So if you're the first in line you get to be among the "lucky" ones to pay $95 for a tabletop? The other places were $45 for a tabletop. This is more than double just because it's the last shipment? No make sense! I remember this place...I went there last year looking for a small tree around 4' and these people wanted $60-$80. My mama didn't raise no fool, so I went to Habilitat and got a beautiful one for $25. This year I tried to go to Habilitat again, but they didn't have that size so I kept looking, eventually got one of the last batch ones from Home Depot for free...yes, they were giving them away. It's still green and not dropping needles.

if 100 people are willing to pay $100 for a 2 foot tree --- so be it, there are suckers that come along everyday

next year if you want a real tree, just go to Home Depot, they sell containers full at a reasonable price

and if you just want the smell to go with your fakey, Costco has giant real wreaths for $9.95

I went to Helemano and it was great. All Christmas trees look great once you decorate them.

This is ridiculous.....100 for a tree that u keel for about 7 days, only in Hawaii is this the lead story on the news. I'm gonna teach my children than the holidays are not about spending 8 hours in line for trees and gifts but to spend that 8 hours and 100 bucks with the family...
Its over

This is an emergency situation. A disaster, if you will. That tree seller should be busted for gouging.

Congrats to the sellers here for finding economic opportunities in a time of despair. Instead of whining and complaining about things, blaming the president/congress/governor/ma yor/[fill in the blank], they actually go out take action and MAKE money.

I did too and my family loves it. It's our first tree from Helemano and won't be our last. We thought we needed the xmas tree smell but you know what, it's not missed. The other great thing about going to Helemano is that you are supporting the local economy.

agreed, don't really know the point of the story

I guess it means that anyone can fill buy an air freight container for about $2k, sick $1k worth of trees in it and sell them for $10k

completely insignificant as far as helping out our people meet their need for trees

just giving a gouger a few minutes of fame
