HOPACO derived its name from HOnolulu PAper COmpany owned by Boise Cascade Corp.(Boise,Idaho) Hopaco started in retailing office products stores. Ala Moana Ctr. was their largest until it shut down once the center expanded and oust Hopaco from that location altho there were other stores located elsewhere on Oahu as well as the outer islands. Boise Cascade purchased OfficeMax and a lot of changes emerged, shut down distribution centers, stores, loss of thousands of jobs across the nation! Not like it used to be, impersonal service!

That manager you're referring to must have moved to the new Waipahu location. Plus they don't even have the sale products in stock. The manager tried to make it my responsibility to talk to his regional manager about it. They might as well shut the store down now. There's no customer traffic.
I worked for Office Depot for twelve years. I can tell you the company has gone down hill over the years. Steve Odland has been the worst thing that could happen to Office Depot. I know for a fact that on Sundays we rarely had in stock every item advertised on the Sunday add we had to so immaculately set on Saturday nights. So when an OD manger apologizes and suggests to the customer that they should share their “concern” or “outrage” with a District or Regional Manger I find that to be a fair request. When a manager brings up an issue like that to a District Manager nothing changes. The company views negative manager comments as the individual being “negative”. A very bad thing, especially in District 1. When enough customers’ complaint about the same issue then changes happen. So stop being so narrow-minded ant think for a moment. That’s just common sense.

what a disaster of a company! should be put out of its misery! lying, cheating, false stock numbers, and managers who do absolutely nothing except text message all day! i am ashamed to say that i actually still work to satisfy the few customers we atract and sell ppp's for the worst paychecks ever. every time we meet our goals they raise our numbers so we can't earn an extra dime. we only get one raise a year and mcdonalds pays better! was once a great company-years ago!!

Office Depot sucks, their new thing is throwing a crapload of money at a consulting firm for a bull program to 'improve sales', instead of actually paying it's employees living wages. this great program of their's has done a good job of irritating customers, and getting in the way of any work getting done, wich we all now have less time to do thanks the corporate deciding noone gets more than 4 hour shifts so they won't have to give us breaks.

The company is poorly managed by psychopaths who manipulate corporate management to cover their tracks. Independent audit is needed.

the outside 'sales force' like business development managers, all they do is email non work related things, misuse the laptop and blackberry provided for personal use, steal office supplies, non stop, take friends and lovers for lunch, dinners and coffee non stop.... no one tracks the lack of work being done by this group. i know a girl that has this title in oldham co kentucky and i bet she steals about $15k worth of her salary and office use a year.

When go to one of those stores, I just watch for a young teenager if I want anything. If I'm shopping for a gift, I'll get the lastest and best info from a twelve year old. If I'm shopping for a computer, I'll just ask some teenage customer that looks like a geek. They're the ones that are up to date on computers. Thirty is OLD in that game.
