His dad told me it was tentatively scheduled for yesterday, Saturday, Sept. 27. But I'm not sure if it happened or not, I'm in Kona.

He died from natural causes, his family is having a hard time dealing with it and at the services the family asked to respect their privacy and don't ask the family, "how".
The Mililani service was beautiful with Hawaiian music, 21 gun salute, taps, and color guards.

Thank you so much for the update. He's been on my mind so much and I kept asking myself how and why it happened thinking that I would never find out. It's so sad. I wish I could have gone to the service. The last time I saw Bruce was when he was a bodyguard for Waihee, many many years ago.

We will surely miss him so very much. He was a sweet wonderful man always concerned about everyone else except himself.
I have known him for 15 years and even that is not enough time, it should have been at least for another 25+ years to say the least.
I spoke to him before he passed and he was fine. He even emailed me on the night of 9/08/08 and no sign of any distress. I kept all of his weekley emails to me, so now I read it finding it so very hard to believe Bruce is gone from all of us forever.
Seeing I did not get to see him as often as we had wanted, I kept all of his sweet voice mails and when I listen to it now, it brings tears to my eyes, thinking he is gone but never forgotten.
Bruce will be Missed So Very Much by each of us for whatever reason we had the pleasure of having him in our lives.
I attended the services on Oahu and was so surprised to see the photo next to his coffin. It made me cry for I can recall the day I took that photo.I kept telling him to look directly into the lens of the camera for then it will be like the Mona Lisa. He then asked how is that, I said his eyes would follow everyone who stared at the photo and he agreed when I gave him a copy of that picture. It is a great terrific photo of such a great man.
He is in Heaven and we all now have one great big guardian angel watching over us. Malama Pono. Blessings be upon all of you who loved Bruce as much as I do. Aloha Keakua. Aloha Pumehana.
God be with you till we meet again...

Just wanted to add one more little tibit.
Remember as Bruce would say, "Toss one for me".
Yes we will all remember to have one beer with poki of course just for that Big Boy. And no forget to listen to the hawaiian music, too.
FYI if anyone knows the people from the group "Simplisity" from Oahau, that was his old time favorite and he would sing to me that song you all played, "You Look Beautiful Tonight".
Aloha from braddah Bruce who first gave me your cassette then wala he then sent me the CD. Mahalo Plenty Braddahs he had great stories to tell about all you boyz in the good old days. Aloha Pumehana.

Poliahu, I worked with Bruce at Island Colony. There were about a dozen or so of us who kept in contact over many years. I missed Bruce's funeral as my father in law passed the day before and have not seen him in many years...I'm going to visit his parents as I need to have closure as well and keep feeling like I need to get out there....hopefully by the end of the month. I was wondering if you would mind emailing me his photo as well so that I can share it with our circle of friends here? Nanakau@hotmail.com Thanks for sharing.
