If the dems override Lingle's veto on the hotel tax then I hope all of you who have jobs connected to the tourism industry get ready to apply for unemployment. Some how the dems believe that raising the hotel tax will give them extra money in the budget. I think it will just persuade tourists to go elsewhere and those that rely on tourism will be getting money from the state when they all have to apply for unemployment. So much for balancing the state budget. Given the economic outlook, government needs to cut back not raise taxes but taxing is what government does best. Tax us all to death.
