Good for you for bugging your Representative and Senators, and I mean that no matter which political side of the isle you stand.<quoted text>"Hawaiian Republican" You are right. I was never an Obama supporter. I watched Sen Mc Cain over the years and could not imagine voting for him. His temper plus finishing second from his class at Annapolis Naval Academy. Obama came across as some common sense coming to our government which we needed. NOW..I just don't know what tothink or do...other that keep calling my US Rep and Senators trying to keep them remembering there is another election next year. We have scraped the bottom of the barrel AGAIN. Aloha from Northeast PA.
More Americans need to voice their concerns more directly to the government, and that's probably one of the best ways to get started. I didn't vote for any of my Hawaii Representatives/Senators, but when I think they are doing something good, I call their offices and tell them so. But, when they are doing something I disagree with, I call and tell them so also. Admitedly, as a conservative Republican, I call more often with complaints than praises.
