Most of the bills are insignificant and are not geared to solve the pressing issues like the deficit problems, homelessness and unemployment. I didn't see anything that applies to boosting the economy and relieving us of paying too much taxes. No one else to blame except us because we don't participate in the political process as manifested by the fact that only a small fraction of the population goes to the poll. Most of the people are not deeply aware of the issues affecting everyone. Issues are often times gathered to ventilate a favored group's opinions. We need to educate the electorate by establishing handy and independent sources of information free from political maneuverings and sources that do not favor individuals or groups with hidden agenda that seek to promote their own self-vested interest. An entity should establish unquestionable integrity and transperancy to provide information based on facts and not on issues. We need the neighborhood boards to reach everyone and very concerned about local and national issues. Some neighborhood meetings are getting into redundancy because a lot of people do not participate andjust shrug their shoulders showing no concern at all. We are lucky that we are under a stratified system of government that absorbs, rectifies and regulates legislations and actions taken by our unqualified, inexperienced or self-serving representatives.
