brah I feel for you! Many of the financial market took a beating from the economic meltdown. Thankfully you still have 310 at the moment. But I know this kine stuff makes everyone huhu, because that money was for retirement. The reason why this mess goes beyond banks is this - You heard H & R Block, the Tax preparation company, well they was one of several wall street companies who owned wholesale mortgage companies like Option One. These WS firms wrote the expanded (lax)mortgage guidelines, promoted them and underwrote the loans through a conduit of mortgage brokers and correspondant lenders. You heard of Lehman Brothers once a behemoth on WS. It owned Aurora Loan Services and SIB Mortgage Corporation, large wholesale sub-prime lenders selling their toxic sludge across the country. Then there was Merrill Lynch who owned First Franklin a subprime whole
mortgage company as well with tentacles in every state. These were just a few of the BIG WS investors aside from the more promenient banks who sold sub-prime loans through subsidiaries or an wholesale arm. It was more then just the banks, who did have a role in this mess.

What is really amazing. Why has no one lost their jobs or been demoted in the FBI or US Attorney's office. This type of fraud was as common as anything. Hell, people went around advertising it on the radio or on the side of their cars (I buy homes)- remember those! Now the FBI and US Attorney think they are heros! That is is more criminal these these idiots. There needs to be accountablity both ways here.
