Ms Fand,
Do you really think there will be body bags piling up? What a crock of crap.
No one will be turned away at an ER room. If they are that poor, there is medicare and medicaid that will cover them. If they choose to opt out, then that is a whole new set of problems.
They have been trying to take over the HC system for many many years, do you really think a few months will make a difference?
You are living in Kailua, I assume you must have a pretty good income or are you waiting for free care for yourself by trying to alarm the masses.
Shame on you.

Roxanne Fand - You are sadly mistaken. No one (even illegal aliens) can get all the FREE healthcare they need in the USA....if they die it is because they did not use what is already there, like medicaid or going to ANY public hospital. Got a news flash for you, IF the government plan is adopted you will see MORE bodies than you would today.....the plan as it stands in congress is NOT going to fix what is actually wrong with the system...and it WILL cost trillions to do basically nothing.

...and let the government begin by raising YOUR taxes first to pay for them.

Ms. Fand, is your reference to body bags a metaphor for all the Democrat politicians who will be fired and sent home after the Nov 2010 elections, if they do pass a liberal health care bill?
If so, that's an apt description 'cause they surely will be dealt a death blow by concerned citizens.
Yeah

Dennis Kohara:

I had to laugh. Your reasoning is very appropriate. Proponents of tax increases to "save" the state would have to support your statement. But what it really does is emphasize governments need to cut back.

Regarding the guidance counselor at Moanalua Elementary who traumatized kids by telling them about rape, oral & anal sex, pornography etc. and also added that President Obama said it was okay to perform late term abortions SHOULD BE FIRED. Sounds like she has a personal agenda and wants to spread her propaganda in our public schools as early as she can. I'm all for sex education, but the topics should be age-appropriate. For a guidance counselor, she definitely lacks good judgement and should be removed from her position.

Could this person be associated with those people who saw nothing wrong with driving a gigantic truck around our city streets showing a picture of an aborted fetus on the sides??? Hmmmmmmm?

Maybe, just maybe, if you get past the illusion of 'free' health care for everyone, and read the fine print in the proposed bills you'll have a different outlook.
If YOU have a job, you'll WILL be paying for someone who refuses to, or can't work. Might as well have them move in with you.

Ms. Hinchey, wouldn't it be nice if the focus was on education and peace? I would feel good about that!

I think if the people of Hawaii are happy with 50 years of Democratic rule, then they deserve the school system we have. Maybe people are putting good money in sports 'cuz we get something out of it, even if it's for a few hours. Economically, it's not a sound investment to put good money in bad money. Maybe when UH gives out Bachelor of Education degrees so the DOE doesn't have to hire consultants to teach teachers how to teach and the BOE and unions are gotten rid of, then maybe the focus can once again be on students, teachers, and principals! As I see it, DOE should only deal with up keep of the school's infrastructure and uniform books for all our students. Let the teachers and principals decide how best to teach their students in their communities. We all know students learn differently based on their experiences and economic background!

Also, since some of the children were traumatized by her 'counselling' maybe someone should look at the possibility of child abuse.
However, I suspect this 'counselor' will be on the job in another classroom at the start of the New Year.

President Reagan's disastrous policy of Peace through strength, lead us to the war in Grenada.

As a libera....er, I mean Progressive, I believe we should look to dog's behavior for the true answer.

When threatened by another country, we should roll onto our backs, exposing our throats and underbellies to the enemy, thus showing them we mean no harm only peace.

Works every time it's tried.

There is a big difference in not having HC and not having a insurance policy in your hand.
You can always get HC, but still may not be able to afford the policy.
Do you really think putting all the hard working citizens in this country, that are taxed to death as it is right now, further into debt, so that the truly deserving, about 10 million is all, can have that policy in their hands?
Have you even looked at the debt clock lately? It is over $340,000 per person in this country. We cannot afford to implement it at this time, until we balance our books.
I, for one, am tired to being taxed, when an out of control government cannot even put their own house in order.
Taxes, that seems to be their answer to everything.
Well, the people have had enough.
This new so called HC bill, has over 19 new taxes, can the people afford it? Not at all.
Should we pick up the tab for it, not at all.

The government, any government, has no business putting it's citizens in such a bind.
It has no business going into the private sector.

If it wants to help the HC system, leave the Drs. and Hospital alone. Pay attention to the Attorneys and their unreasonable fees, the Unions, big pharma. They are the ones that will gain from all this. Get them under control and we all can afford that HC policy. The insurance companies react to the actions of those three entities.

It is all part of the plan to take this country to her knees. It is about takeover of all of our rights. President Reagan warned us back in 1961 about Socialized Medicine. Countries in Europe are now reevaluating their decisions and some are considering going back to private HC.

Hello Joe,

I don't think we need to worry about our safety anymore. Our new leader has been all over the globe apologizing for our previous administrations and has been making nice to all the most important dictat...er, I mean world leaders. I'm sure we'll be just fine now. No need to show your underbelly, or your plugs...you rascal!
