The federal DHHS mandates individual states to execute the U.S. government's health care mission. In turn, DOH has adopted their mission as follows: "The mission of the Department of Health is to protect and improve the health and environment for all people in Hawai‘i. We provide a comprehensive, integrated mental health system supporting the recovery of adults with severe mental illness." By law, the State DOH cannot arbitrarily change its mission.

Linda Lingle and Lillian Koller are self serving overly ambitious polititions who will run over anyone and anything to enrich their political careers and fatten donors pockets. Screw the mentally ill, the elderly the blind and $$$$ coming from them right?
Harsh realities will hit the streets as more people desperate for treatment and personal assistance have NO WHERE to turn. Our state is a shameful example of the greedy left to run amok and who and hide behind "the bad economy" while the fat cats (meow... Linda and Lillian!) at the top of the food chain laugh all the way to Washington or the bank.
Maui Kaiser dumped all Medicaid clients (yes children too...I was in a crowded O'ahu docs office with them the other day) into a community where NO other docs take the crappy (Lingle/ Koller lovechild) QEXA (managed care to replace Medicaid run by 2 Mainland co. being sued in multiple states for billing fraud etc.) plan. NO DOCTORS ON MAUI TAKE MEDICAID... does the state have to pay for flights to O'ahu and back so Maui residents can sit waiting for overwhelmed docs in Oahu betcha!!!! Stimulus $$$ should not clear up lame duck Linda's state deficit mess. Take care of our most vulnerable could be yourself or someone you love who needs help tomorrow. Aloha State?

This is not going to end well. Typical situation not just here, but all across the country. It's going to get worse.
