considering relocating to St Joseph

My husband has a possible job opportunity in St Joseph's, but we have never been to the area. We have 2 young children and are just trying to find out some more about the area. Any opinions about the place? Schools? Crime? Arts? Recreation? Weather? Family friendly neightborhoods? Any comments would be great!

Hello- figured i might give you some sort of help on the subject... only kind of confused myself- are you talking about st. joseph, missouri? got a s on it above. i been here all my life, im 26 and have a baby now myself. im trying to get my house into a good enough spot so i can sell it. personally i think this is about the end of the road in this town for me, only everybody i know is here,so... i guess its a good town. the schools are decent, theyre all the same to me ive been to several. crimes not too bad around here. arts- theres a theatre downtown, pluse we are only about an hour from kc and theres just all kinds of cool stuff there. theres a few museums that are cool around town, and we never run out of places to eat. the weather is alright, it can get cold in winter, but im used to it other than i hate cold so winters bum for me.its a decent enough town where ever you go, but you may perfer a certain area. hope that helped
