it's a myth.
this is the story:The Death Cellar - It's the house of the resident C.W. Farquhar. It has been known by many people that have stayed in the basement long enough. The doors will lock. The lights will turn a light red color. Screams of many young girls. And full figured ghosts seen laying on the ground screaming. In 1975 a man brought many young girls to the basement and slowly killed them.

there is no record of this ever happening in 1975. no court documents, no newpaper articles, nothing.
it's a pretty cool tale though.

Having lived in St. Joseph for many years, I am familiar with most of the scary stories...i.e. Felix's grave(have witnessed some massively creepy stuff there!), Mt. Mora Cemetery, Central High School(graduated from there), the old psych hospital(now prison), etc. THIS is the first time I have ever heard of "The Death Cellar". Kind of silly, really. However, there WAS an active serial killer in St. Joseph in the 1970's. his victims were not young women though. They were children. There is even a book about the incidents, called "St. Joseph's Children".

okay...just a followup to my previous comment. The serial killer was Charles Ray Hatcher. He confessed to 16 murders prior to his death(by suicide) in 1985.

pretty funny how everyone talks some much BS about st.joe but yet half of them come down here to shop nowdays( must not suck that much), but this whole thread is about where this house is located..so if you don't know its kinda pointless to stay off this thread?..now I would like to know where this house is..since everyione seems to know?

Same here i have lived in st.jo for almost 5 years now and before that i lived here when i was a little kid. I was looking up hauntings in st.jo on the net and i found it, today was the first time i have ever heard about it. My mom lived here in the 70's and has never said anything about it i will have to ask her if she knows anyting about the murders.
