It never ceases to amaze me. The fact that I am still amazed by these events is amazing.

A bunch of starry-eyed girls meet basketball players at a motel. And then drink with them. Are teenage girls really so stupid as to think this is sensible behavior?

No kudos to the guys who took advantage of them. They are scum.

Moms and dads, where were you when your kids, boys and girls alike, were developing their sense of morality? Did you give them any guidance? Or, was this the kind of behavior you actually encouraged?

You are kidding, rigth? Where were the Moms and Dads? These punks are having punks. You probably have three generations of a family that span a total of less than 40 years each having a child before they were 16! No Dad sticks around and the circle remains unbroken. If indeed as story states an assistant coach was in the room, he needs to be held completely accountable as well. Unless of course the drinking age in Iowa is 18...but it's not.

If the girl doesn't remember having sex, then it never happened, right?

We also need to teach our daughters to behave like LADIES. What did they think was going to happen when they went to the Days Inn to hang out and drink with a group of basketball players? I am not saying she was responsible, however young ladies need to stop putting themselves in situations where they can be taken advantage of!!

Yeah this girl was looking to get raped by 4 animals...the other girls called the police because they were jealous...That coach that was drinking with these 18 year olds should also be held accountable.

I live in Downers Grove and working in Houston on assignment

I have two points to make on this story. Why were the girls at the motel in the first place? Secondly, what makes a person think that having sex with a passed out person is cool?
There is plenty of blame to go around on this incident. The players are at fault for taking advantage of the girls. The girls are at fault (and I mean fault) for going to the motel in the first place. I also hold the school responsible for the players actions since this is a school sponsored event.
All are guilty of being stupid, and they should be held accountable for their actions.

Partying with guys you met the night before doesn't mean you're asking to be raped, and poor judgment doesn't mean the results are necessarily deserved. Heck, your parents used poor judgment by not utilizing contraceptives, but that doesn't mean the world deserves to have people like you in it.

The young country girls of Iowa are probably not used to the basketball players from the big city. They probably were expecting a party like something out of a rap music video they saw. Rude awakening they had.
