Alleged drunk driver charged with causing L.A. Fitness fire

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. It's a story first reported on 22News, police say a Springfield woman who was allegedly driving drunk, has been charged with causing a fire at the city's newly opened, L.A. Fitness.

I am a member of L.A. Fitness. I am wondering why there wasn't protection of some sort in front of the transformer so cars or trucks could not drive into it. Seems like a safety problem to me. No reason why the transformer was not protected.

Looks like 16 Million doesn't exactly buy what it used to.. no but seriously spending that kind of money and not having any barricades in front of the transformer is ridiculous.

The building is new and in order to please members they opened the facility as soon as possible. Who could have known a drunk ass would speed into the building.

Your absolutely right. If you look at the video you can clearly see a port-a-potty still there. Or is that there for the members to use until the bathrooms inside of L.A. Fitness is complete??

it really doesnt matter why it hadn't been protected yet. she was drunk and obviously not capable of driving. lucky she is still alive and did not hurt anyone else or herself, could of been much worse, she should pay somewhat of the consequenses.

Ya well Golds has its own issues, at least LA Fitness can say it was a drunk driver, Golds can just say "We'll get to it when we can"
