LaFrance called for help, saying his wife was "not breathing" Relly? dead people don't breath.

If he had his MURDER plan all figured out he would have said. "My wife and I tried to kill our selves, I woke up and found her dead".

He killed her, gave himself just enough to survive.

The janitor pay may not have been enough. There is plenty more to the story...

Good Point.

He just happened to wake up 8 days latter "groggy" when the cops came.

Actually he kept giving himself the drug to keep him that way until someone called to check.

Your right 8 days? the drug if intially given in one dose would have kill or he would came out of it MAYBE 48 hour latter. NOT 8 Day.

Busted...

He told police they had taken the overdose two days prior. An autopsy will be able to determine if that is the truth or not. I can't imagine what was happening in the house the six days before that. I would think, also, that blood tests could confirm if the gentleman's tox level was in line with what he took and when he said he took it. If the two of them took the drugs at the same time and the same amount, it's conceivable that the lighter of the two would perish and the heavier one would not. I don't know that she was lighter than he, but again the medical examiner should be able to put the pieces together.

The man comes to the door after the cops pound the daylights out of the door on a WELFARE CHECK on him not her. The Police know that there is some sort of PROBLEM and ask to see the wife, who they can not "see" in plain sight. He says NO. The police now have to leave because they don't have any probable cause or warra to enter the bedroom.

This guy is Jared out of an INTOXICATED DRUGGED SLEEP by the incessant pounding-- turns over sees his wife just sleeping? Did he forget about the PACT? If he did would he not have said sure lets go talk to her. Could have been like a CO poisoning

NOPE! He new she was dead as soon as he woke up even if he was not already awake.

The cops leave and then he goes "honey" time to get up now! and finding her dead and forgot the whole plot thing.

In most cases, would there be emergency numbers at school to call relatives?

2 people plot their own death on the eight day it comes to light.

Ok, so lets say he was woke up by the cops, knew instantly that the PACT failed, He then calls an hour latter to report her dead.

What happened to the PACT? He had his hour to finish his end of the deal (kill himself) PACT but didn't, how come? Scared?

@Viking, wow sounds like you have a personal issue with this guy, where's your compassion or sense of what is right? A suicide pact, a wife dead, these are people part of the human race and obviously hurting, and emotionally distressed, what on earth does his weight or job performance have to do with it or the union? Seems like an excuse for the employer not calling sooner maybe, no sense in calling when you could care less, just makes it easier to get rid of him. You all should be ashamed.

@Viking You have calmed down some what, thats a good thing, but you still missed my point. Which is you are off topic, and inconsiderate of the emotional health issues involved, not to mention insensititive to the relatives of this man. Like I said what does his job performance the union or how fast he walks have to do with this article. Unless people like those who tell you these things have contributed to aggravate his mental state. Maybe it's guilt for kicking a man when he is down. I would guess he probably will lose his job I can't imagine anyone would try to help him through this difficult time, least not from where he currently works. He may just finish the job (the pact) he started. Very sad it is. There is one who knows the truth and the hearts of all and he will deal with each one in his time.

You (here?) HEAR things, thats gossiup, and you repeat it on here for everyone to read as it were fact, that is wrong. You need some other forum to rant your distuctive hear say trash on. Maybe your fellow employees should follow each other on twitter and bash each other, you sound like grade school bullies.

I wonder if there could be a wrongful death lawsuit
issue by the family? The article says a caller, not the employer called. Either way if someone would of called sooner intervention may have saved a life. What do you think Bill?

I think that is insane. The employer has no responsibility here. I knew the couple. She was nice and trying. He was the reason Wendy was the way she was. I can guarantee the employer was hoping he quit showing up so they could get rid of him. Quit trying to find fault when most of the time fault lies with your own choices.
