I think mowing the yard is the last place they need to start. First this ridicuously paid person should start with all the people who have junk all over their yards.

No my dog crapping on your couch located on your porch may be considered vandalism. Look up perversion in the dictionary. I am glad you have a job, sorry to hear it's only been good for 4 years, apparently not long enough for you to stop acting like your poor and poverty stricken. I am guessing you make $20,000 a year. Keep up that great work maybe you'll become boss someday. Keep the couch on your porch so when you entertain your friends and co-workers they will get 1st class treatment all the way. CHEERS TO YOU and your low class.
I think its time for people to start worrying about themselves instead of other ppl. Just because you aren't happy with a couch on your porch doesn't mean other people can't be happy with one on theirs. Sure beats that uncomfortable lawn furniture you pay $200 for. If everyone would mind their own business and not worry so much about what the people across the street are doing, this world would be a lot better place to live. I guess your life just isn't interesting enough you have to butt into someone elses!! It's time for people to grow up!!

IF we left our home to look like a shithole we would not have to pay as high of taxes! WHY don't they fine the crap out of the pig places around here and reward the ones who care.
FOR ONE THING we have to much welfare in UNION county! Get off your butts and get a job! I am not here to support you and watch you live and treat your children like shit!
Take care of what you have!!

I DROVE AROUND CRESTON TONIGHT JUST LOOKING FOR NUISANCE PROPERTIES AND FOUND VERY FEW CONSIDERING THE SIZE OF THE TOWN. I SEEM TO FIND THE MOST OF THEM IN THE SAME AREAS OF TOWN. MOST OF THEM THEM ARE IN FORECLOSURE AND SOME BANK, WHO KNOWS WHERE ARE IN CONTROL OF THEM.
NOW HOW MANY OF YOU KNOW WHAT IT TAKES FOR THE CITY TO GET THE PROPERTY CLEANED UP? VERY FEW OF YOU, I SUPPECT. FIRST OF ALL YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT WHO THE ACTUAL OWNER OF THE PROPERTY IS THEN SEND THEM A LETTER AND GIVE THEM A PERIOD OF TIME TO GET THE PROPERTY CLEANED UP.
I KNOW FROM TALKING TO THE FIRST NUISANCE OFFICER WHO IS CURRENTLY RECOVERING FROM A STROKE, HAD OVER A 100 NOTICES FOR UNLICENSED VEHICLE TO BE REMOVED FROM PROPERTIES AND SEVERAL OF THEM HAD BEEN REMOVED BUT IT IS A VICIOUS CYCLE AND BY THE TIME YOU GET SOME REMOVED OTHER MOVE IN.
THEN IN THE SUMMER THEY GET COMPLAINTS OF UNMOWED YARDS AND IN THE WINTER UNSCOOPED SIDWALKS. ONCE AGAIN YOU HAVE TO FIND THE ACTUAL OWNER OF THE PROPERTIES AND SEND THEM A NOTICE.
THE CITY CHARGES SOMETHING LIKE $75 AN HOUR TO MOW A YARD PLUS A $100 SURCHARGE WHICH IS CHARGED TO THE OWNERS PROPERTY TAXES IF IT ISN'T PAID RIGHT A WAY.
THE WAY I UNDERSTAND IT A NUISANCE OFFICER IS PAID ONLY FEW DOLLARS AN HOUR AND ALLOWED 20 HRS A WEEK WITH NO BENEFITS TO TRY AND TAKE CARE OF THESE PROBLEMS PLUS SEVERAL OTHERS I HAVEN'T MENTIONED THEN I WOULD ADVISE ANY OF YOU TO APPLY FOR THE JOB AS I KNOW THE CURRENT NUISANCE OFFICER IS ONLY DOING IT UNTIL THE FIRST ONCE IS WELL ENOUGH TO TAKE IT BACK AND IT CURRENTLY DON'T LOOK LIKE THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.
MAYBE ONLY ONCE ONE OF YOU CRITICS TAKE THE JOB CAN THIS TOWN BE CLEANED UP OVER NIGHT.
ONE OTHER THING, YOU CAN CONTACT HE POLICE DEPT AND GET A COPY OF THE NUISANCE ORD. FREE OF CHARGE, I KNOW I GOT ONE, BUT I DON'T THINK YOU WILL FIND A COUCH ON SOMEONES PORCH WILL CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE

Why don't you just blow more smoke up our butts. Al you are doing is making excuses. And there are more than a few properties, so now you have torked me off and I am going to drive around and count them(not the ones with couches on the porch). Anything I consider to be nuisance. Hey I may even take pictures and post them.

I do mind my own business but when I have to look at other peoples shit holes it pisses me off . You must be one big piece of white trash !! Couches are made for indoors if they were made for outdoors they would sell them at Wal Mart with the other outdoor furniture .

Hey Blah Blah Blah I am all for you.

Seems like you have all the answers. While you are at City Hall with the pictures why don't you apply for the job you could do an excellent job and make things happen faster than they are.

This is a real problem in Creston, what good does it do to have ordinances on the books if no one is going to inforce them? And there are more than just a few that need cleaned up. When your property looks like a dumping place or a used car lot then there is a problem. And the problem is not in one part of town, it is spread throught out the city. All it takes is some muscle and energy to keep your property looking clean, take some pride in how you look.

Absolutely! You don't have to have a lot of money or spend a lot of money to make your yard look nice! Just clean up!
ALSO I would like to mention I don't understand WHY we have all of these farm animals ALL over the place. What the hell is that about?
Since when in the city limits is it OK to have pigs, goats, chickens, Roosters going crazy early in the morning and all that. That is what the country is here for! This is the city limits and something needs done about it!
IT is just not right!

My suggestion is to flood city hall with your complaints. If they aren't taken care of within a couple weeks call them and ask what has been done with your complaint.
I know I have turned in several properties and some are taken care of and some are still in the process of being taken care of I am totally satisfied with the results I have had. You just have to realized it can't be done over night.

I have a friend that lives there and when we were moving to the area she wanted us to buy a house ther because it would be cheaper but my husband and I both agreed that the town in general looks run down and dirty. It is up to the home owner to keep it up Plus it lowers the value of all the homes around it.
