Not too many places that you can work "school hours" and work with children the way that she does. We need school nurses just as much as nurses in doctor's offices...so what's your question?

I know that Pam Lape gives all she's got and she enjoys a new challenge. She isn't the only school nurse that is looking for something a little different but still in the public service arena. This just demonstrates the flexibility of a nurse and a woman. She is familiar with the social systems and would be a real asset at the Public Administrator! I'll vote for her.

I've never heard a single bad comment about her and her professionalism and compassion for her "children" at the school. She is a person that is willing to fight for what is right. She's honest, dependable and loyal to whomever she is serving! I'll definitely be voting for Pam Lape! It's time for a change!

This is the same chick that did all the work to pass the child booster seat law in Missouri. Just that shows her dedication and ability. She worked with the National Safe Kids and Missouri state patrol. She went to places like St Louis, Jefferson City, and Washingto DC as an advocate for kids. The law was partly passed due to her determination.

Then why does she want to leave the kids.

Pam has always lead a life of serving others. Not only has she worked in the public school system as a nurse; she has excelled in that position, leading campaigns to help needy children.
She and her family were instrumental in getting the child booster seat law passed.
Pam's children are now grown with children of their own. Pam understands the importance of family at all ages.
Not only has she worked with K-12 children at schools, she has worked with preschool and with nursing homes. She is intelligent, kind, and dedicated. I have never met another person as compassionate and sincere in focus.

When my mom was in the Advance Nursing Home, Pam worked there. She is more than a good person. She took time to pray with my family and spent most of the night in my mom's room the night that mom died. She sat by the bed and talked with us and it was reassuring. Brought the whole chart rack into the room so she could complete her work that night! She is not a person just devoted to kids. She is a person devoted to PEOPLE! You can contact Glenda Cato about the kind of work this lady can handle. She's a true person. Never changed in all the years I have known her.

By the way, she was a charge nurse there and did a LOT to help the NAs. She's smart enough to make life threatening decisions but still would help with whatever else needed to be done. This included feeding people, changing clothes, mopping and wiping butts. So a lot of other nurses thought they were too good to do that stuff. Oh and BTW, she talked several NAs into going into nurse's school and wrote letters for them to get in. So I do think she's good and I know she is smart. And she care's about people. For real.

An LPN does the a lot of the same work as an RN,makes much less, and is used to cover between shortages of RN's and CNA's,but with a butt load of charting. The phone starts ringing as soon as you get home ,"Can you please work some overtime..." until they cringe everytime the phone rings. They get to work and it is never good enough, new, extra paperwork, come in on your day off for this mandatory crap and that mandatory crap until they are beat down and burned out without a thank you, except from their patients.
I blame no one from leaving nursing,it is stress that others who only are looking at the paycheck cannot understand. The more caring, intelligent people in the field are leaving in droves, can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
I don't know this person but if they have a clean criminal/financial background, an LPN might not be a bad choice because she would understand the medical side, and be used to dealing with a pile of endless paperwork.
I've not heard anything negative about the incumbent, however.
