I read there has to be hearing by 60 days and at the end of 180 days there has to some kind of resolution or more permanent placement orders if the children are not returning home.

The article says that both the mom and dad in this case gave DNA samples and accurate names of all the children he has wife his legal wife and with another wife. One other wife claims to have no children.

I don't think it is so much about the multiple wives or families where there are 2-3 moms as much as "are the kids safe?" Why the broken bones?
Why and how are so many teen girls pregnant when they are homeschooled and do not normally leave the gated, locked, controlled compound?
