Former Loudonville

I worked at Merillat in Loudonville for 11 years. They expanded the plant and there was no end in sight for a while, but when the tax abatement agreement they had with the village ran out; so did the work. However the company did make an effort to get all of us placed in other jobs in the community. That was in 2002, Now 8 years later Loudonville is a ghost town with empty storefronts and houses for sale everywhere, mostly due to foreclosure. My heart goes out to those affected by yet another plant closing. I knew that it was going to be ugly once Richard sold the family business to MASCO. If Ray Stienly shows up, you know it's not good.

I worked at the Loudonville plant for 9 years. I really enjoyed working there when it was around. When we were told it was closing, we got offered jobs at the other plants also. I know of one who went to the Ocala plant and one to the Las vegas plant. It is too bad that now both of these plants are gone. There are some of the people that I would like to talk too from the Loudonville plant if they are on here.

Has anyone heard that Masco BCG is changing its name again to Masco Cabinetry? This is going to effect all cabinet companies owned by Masco. I also heard that big changes are coming for Adrian Corporate offices.

Yes, from what I'm hearing corporate will no longer be in Adrian. Neither will Kraftmaid's be in Middlefield. They will move them all to some nuetral location yet to be named. I'm sure some corporate folks will be affected.

They spent all that money and time to change over to BCG just to change it to RCG? What a waste! Things can't be good when you change your name all the time. I heard that it's either somewhere in mid Michigan or Ohio for the new corporate offices. They have 60 days to determine where it will be. What will all these new changes mean for all the hourly employees? What plant will be next in line for closing?

From wht i get from the Masco name change is overhead reduction of to many Chiefs. If you have one unbrella, you dont need that many under it to keep dry. It all comes down to...survive. Im glad that the ax is happening slowly. That will be better than one wack, on the head. Time will tell. America is in bad shape in the housing business period.

I personally feel that this is not the end of rumors more axe's will be grinding. The business is awfully slow right now. With all the Plants combined still doesn't add up to what Adrian plant did in one day. Do i smell more closings?
I wouldn't trust anything that comes from the Masco Corp. Maybe they need to axe some of the personnel running the corporation cause its going down the tubes real quick.
Yes i am very bitter We lost lots took a big loss on our home moved away from friends and family.
The biggest hurt comes from losing the familiarity.
I feel like a lost puppy who will never find his way home again.

I'm afraid that Adrian will be a ghost town with all the business's closing in a matter of 3 years We drove through when we closed on the house and it was really spooky cause there was hardly any traffic the mall was really dead. People from the big cities moved to small town like Adrian to get away from all the drama and make a better life for their families is there gonna be anything left?

I personally can't stand to work at Merillat in Mount Sterling much longer. They think they are some rogue company that can use and abuse thier workers anyway they choose. They treat their employees as if we are all ignorant and stupid. They have no structure to hours worked at all when the quitting time buzzer goes off no one blinks an eye because we all know that we aren't getting out of there until it's done. No second shift to pick up where first left off. When Adrian was running I thought it was unstructured there, BOY was I ever wrong!!! This place takes the cake!

Looks like Ann Arbor, Mich. is the new HQ.
Sorry to hear that Mt.Sterling is such a bad place.

Ann Arbor? Did we already have headquarters there or is it a brand new place? I'll have to make a list and THEN call the Ethics Hotline. There are sooo many things wrong with this factory here! Maybe it would be different if I didn't have Adrian to compare it to. In the beginning I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought it was the converting from Quality to Merillat that was screwing everything up. BUT here we are over a year later and we still run the same! There are some nights we don't get out until 8PM! Don't get me wrong it's a small crew of about 15 of us but how long can it run like this? Aren't we going to LOSE money in the long run?

Dont you have a HR person to go to. It is hard to understand what your are dealing with. Just from being at the Jackson plant. Does anyone explain why?

I know the plant manager is from West Virginia and he said that people in Kentucky only have the education of a 3rd grader. Now that will make you want to stay and work there.....
