3 Illinois soldiers die in Afghanistan

A bomb on an Afghan road killed three Illinois National Guard soldiers this week, including a young father, a man who hoped his military service would lead to a career as a paramedic and another who dreamed of becoming a police officer.

Why does the media call this a war when congress hasnt declared it as such? Guess Im one of those domestic terrorists that believe our elected officials should actually obey the constitution. I feel so sad for the families of those who's lives have been tragically wasted for the love of money and power. Why are we in Afghanistan when most of the 9/11 criminals came from Saudi Arabia?

Read Lawrence Wright's book The Looming Tower, and you'll get some idea as to why we are in Afghanistan. The heads of the Saudi state have done their best to expel those who practice terrorism out of the kingdom. Those expelled Saudis, among others, have been allowed to live and prosper in Afghanistan by the Taliban.

Unfortunately, the solution to the mess in the middle east is not as cut and dried as most people wish it to be.
