What I think most of us are upset about is that there are proper channels for dealing with it - just up and drowning 50 kittens (KITTENS, FOLKS), is NOT a normal thing to do - this guy is sick, twisted and hello, this is the #1 sign of mental defect, hmm k?

For all you cat haters out there, there ARE responsible pet owners (such as myself) that spay/neuter their cats AND (ta-da!!) keep them INSIDE at all times, so that you precious bird-lovers out there don't bytch about having your birds (which, btw, are more of a detriment to the environment than any cat is) killed off.

Dog lovers - congrats to you - but not everyone can love your precious pooches as much as YOU do. What if this was 50 puppies drowned? Would you all be "oh, so what, it's just a dog!"? No, I don't think so.

I just couldn't imagine holding those lil' kittens under water till they drown. My cat "Scotty the Geek" is a rescued cat and I just held him so tight after reading this story. Ty-bo was saved by an officer, he was drowning in a bad rain storm, his litter mates and mother died. The cop crawled into a sewer to save him. There are some good people out there, they are just hard to find.

Oh honey, I know exactly how you feel. When I hear some of the abuse people put animals through, it not only depresses me, but it makes me madder than hell. My cats are my world. There are some really sick people out there. It's hard to imagine what goes through people's heads. A lot of serial killers start out torturing, and killing animals. I think a lot of this is caused by upbringing. People don't teach their kids that all life is sacred, not just humans, all living things. It is a very sad situation.People need to treat others as they want to be treated. I live by that rule.

Thanks folks, I try to put the strong face on and then I fall on it, LOL.
I feel much better. I have my 8 lil' fuzzy faces and love them all.
I have 4 rescued kitties and 2 rescued dogs, and 2 very old cats. I fuss and cuss at vacuuming all the hair, but it's such a small price for the love the give me.
I hope 11 alive brings us more news on this tragic story. Unfortunately I see him paying a fine and losing his job. It's not enough.

You are absolutely right!!! Animals can't defend themselves, because although they are quite intelligent, they don't understand the difference between right, and wrong. They have limited understanding. It serves no purpose to punish, or torture animals, because most of them don't have the capacity, to learn from their mistakes. I think abusers should stop and think.... what if that was me? Would I want someone to do that to me? If people would take the time to stop, and think a lot could be avoided. Same with any kind of abuse.

I deal with special needs animals. I found a kitten in my yard about a month ago, with a severely abcessed leg. He was maybe 3 weeks old. As soon as I found him,I took him to the vet. The vet told us we had options (1. amputate the leg (2. have tests done that would cost $500 (3.put him to sleep. We went with option 2. They did testing, and before the results came back, he took a turn for the worst. We had to have the leg amputated. He is the happy go luckiest kitten I have ever seen. He even runs faster than the other cats LOL!! I never do anything rash, I run out all options, until there's no place left to go. It would have been cheaper to have them take the leg to begin with, but my husband and I try every possible avenue, to avoid doing something so serious, if there's the possibility of a good outcome.
