I have about had it with that school sending the kids around begging for money, it is only the third month of school and I have already been asked to purchase something from 9 different fundraisers...what the hell are they doing with all of that money???
doubt it

Probably it's for field trips but I'm like you, I get fed up with it.

Take responsibility for 'being fed up'(not everyone is) and set a fundraising limit for yourself. When you've reached your budget limit just say, "I'm sorry. I can't give any more. I've already donated more than I intended."

End of problem.

I agree that you have to set a personal limit but what about when you have numerous children/grandchildren in the district and they are all selling something every other week? Do you buy from one and not the rest? And what about the guilt trip that the school sends home with them about not being able to go on their school field trips if they dont sell a certain amount?
Real problem

Just pay for your own children's field trips then. Cash will work. Then you won't have to support anyone else's children, and the school will have no reason for fundraisers. If your children are selling anything, and you're complaining about fundraisers, you are the problem yourself. What fundraisers are for is to help out anyone unable to come up with funds.

it won't be long before that place closes! nothing but trouble up there...25 teachers aides, an over paid superintendent and pincipal...no common sense in their hiring practices...failing test scores...ineffective teachers...it needs to close so the kids have a shot at a real education somewhere else!

I don't know all the teachers or all the aides but do know some of them aren't smarter than a fifth grader.

Here's a thought... And it's not intended to offend...When I was growing up, if I wanted something I had to work, earn the money, and pay for it...Could the students possibly do some type of community service work, for example, help the borough rake leaves or sweep streets???? They could get paid and learn the value of performing an honest days work....Then apply their earnings to field trips or unorms etc...It's just a thought...I know many folks in town are always looking for someone to cut grass in the summer or shovel sidewalks in the winter...There's a sense of accomplishment associated with some good old fashion manual labor...

I know....Kids today aren't very motivated but they learned it from someone...Let's break that cycle and get them working.... It used to be shameful to be unemployed and using public assistance...There's nothing wrong with using it, if one needs it; however, it has become a way of life for many....People used to wear there employment uniform like a badge of honor...Now people view taking advantage of the system as that very honor...The point is, kids need to be motivated, by we adults, or it's going to continue to worsen....If we stand on their toes, they will work...Or as Red says on "That 70's Show", I'm gonna put my foot in their asses....LOL......

if kids had a decent homelife with parents to look up to that actually worked, didn't do drugs, and didn't live off of the rest of us and had nothing better to do but make stupid comments on this website on things that they know nothing about maybe they would turn out as respectful law abiding citizens. it all starts at home...boy you all set such a great example for your children...downing their education and community..no wonder these kids have no respect for adults and authority. You should all be so proud.

if we had decent teachers who weren't more concerned with fitting in with the teenagers than being good parents themselves, maybe the kids would respect them a little more, respect is earned and no 15 year old is going to respect a teacher who likes to pretened they are in jr. high school with their kid

So you anonymously slander an entire school because you obviously have issues with a teacher or two? What a beelzebub.

Haters like you are going to hate no matter what happens in that building.
