Officials push for expedited approval of dialysis center at Lowville hospital

Lewis County General Hospital officials are seeking speedy approval of a long-awaited renal dialysis center that would allow for a fall 2010 opening.

I think in this area, this is a well needed clinic. We could also use an Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor. It's hard to travel to Cooperstown or Herkimer in the winter or Watertown. Kudos to LCGH for trying to get all the doctors needed to treat local patients and keep them local at our own hospital. Saves, time, gas and comfort not having to travel as far.

i agree. we do need a dialysis clinic in lowville. my little brother is on dialysis cause his kidnyes are very bad.

It would be GREAT to have dialysis in Lowville. The kid mentioned above has to be taken to Watertown 3 times a week, and there are a lot of other people around here that have the same problem. It is not good in the winter when there is a snow storm or something...then the ones who need to get to it cant always get there. Not good. It would be great if there would be chemo treatments in Lowville too.
