Embattled judge takes the stand

District Court Judge Steven Servaas, fighting to keep his job, defended himself against the charges Tuesday morning.

I have been on the receiving end of Honorable Servaas' judgement and still say that he's very worthy of holding this position. I may be a conspiracy theoroist but this just sounds like an opportunity for someone else to remove him and get their way in a matter that has no grounds or benifits. We all know that there is only one true Judge and we appointed Mr. Servaas as a worthy, earthly substitute knowing that he too is human. "Let he who is free from sin cast the first stone" Sounds to me like there are more 'perfect' people in our midst than I realized.
Leave him alone and let the man do the job that he has done so very well for so very long. This nitpicking is getting rediculous. We've elected Presidents that have been guilty of much worse things.

for quite sometime. And I didn't see anything hanging out.

I think now is the time to give Ms. Andrus a lie detector test. Her coworkers doubt her story, and at this point so do I. If she is willing to ruin someones career she should be able to take the test and back up her words. And someone please show those two ladies what a penis looks like, I'm not sure they know.

"Judge" Servaas is ruining his own career. Even if this lady is some crazy crackpot, there is no excuse for this guy's behavior. Maybe the citizens of Rockford like this clown as their judge, but people who appear in his court cannot take him seriously.

I can't believe how many delusional people support this freak show at their court. But maybe they are all on his payroll. That would explain why nothing gets done at that court building. LAZY public employees.

Should we really fire the 2,716,394 people that apparently are on Servaas' payroll. Personally, I don't like clowns, they scare me. Servaas doesn't really scare me, therefore, I don't think he is actually a clown. I don't know for sure though, the pictures in the paper never show his feet. If he is wearing really big funny shoes, that would be a giveaway.

And I think you are confused on "Judge" Servaas' supporters. There are maybe 12 or 13 of them, but they have posted 2,716,394 messages on here, so I understand why you are confused about it. They also think that only supporters of "Judge" Servaas have a right to express their opinion, and not his opponents.

What happened did the people on your other popular forum run you off? You go from forum to forum slamming people and Servaas and have nothing concrete to back yourself up. The only thing I can guess is that Servaas at one time or another hung you or someone you know and you cannot get past that. Calling him a pervert all over the place doesn't show you are an informed person, it shows you are a imbecile. Either put up or shut up, either way try to act intelligent.

My husband is an attorney, and has worked with and before Judge Servass many, many, times.....and with countless hundreds(thousands?)of others who have as well. Not once, ever, has he ever heard anything negative about him as a boss, judge, co-worker. If something off-color was said at a party, he owed the person an apology. It's a sad world where every thing we utter can be used to ruin us.

I'm with you Jan. How many of Servaas supporters have actually been a part of a case that he has ruled on? This man is off his rocker! He thinks he is not only above the law but that he has the right to make up the law. In transript from a recent case a quote from Servaas, "Yes they broke the law but just a little." therefore throwing that testamony out. How about a judge saying, "And all you had was a screwball witness to testify on your behalf." He let a case go on for 10 days and instead of letting the jury come to a conclusion he decided that all the evidence was not going to be admissable. He ruled it as a frivolous case. The jury wasn't allowed to rule on the case. I think someone should look into his past cases.

Maybe they should let all the people on Servaas' payroll go! He seems to be good at taking care of those who take care of him. Maybe they think...Why not protect a judge who is willing to twist the law - it may come in handy if you're on his good side. I wish someone would stand up to this so called man.
