Six people have been arrested for allegedly operating an illegal massage parlor out of a house in Cherokee County.

The arrests followed a six-week investigation and a raid Thursday on the house on East Cherokee Drive in the Hickory Flat community, said Sgt. Jay Baker, spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department.

• Cherokee County news Charges against the suspects ranged from pimping to masturbation for hire and illegal drug possession.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, investigators seized $15,000 in cash, a laptop computer, marijuana and heroin while executing a search warrant at the house, which advertises its services on Craigslist.com .

Two customers were at the house at the time, but were not immediately charged, the sheriff’s department said.

Arrested were: Terri Confer, 55, of Woodstock on charges of pimping and keeping a place of prostitution; Cheri Phillips, 53, of Woodstock, on felony charges of possession of heroin and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute; Annie Walker, 43, of Kennesaw, on charges of masturbation for hire, unlawful massage and giving a false name to law enforcement; and Deborah Ingram, 42, of Kennesaw, Carla Fortner, 44, of Dallas, Ga., and Jennifer Adams, 22 of Acworth, all on charges of masturbation for hire and unlawful massage.

One of the women charged was a HOME HEALTH LPN...she used those same hands to care for the elderly...and what about their children and families I know they must be disgusted and ashamed.

I know the kids are ashamed - as is Jennifer's family. All of her children have been removed from her custody - I know - I have one of them. The others are spread over 3 counties. This is embarrassing & disgusting.

This is just another reason/example that the oldest victim less crime (prostitution) in the history of the world should be LEGALIZED. They don't have any problems with it in Nevada because it is legal. It is controlled where you don't have the diseases, it is taxed, health controls are monthly exams, security is very tight, drugs are out of it, and the underground (mafia/pimps) are taken out of it. Legalize it, put out in areas out of sight, and let two consenting adults pay, and accept payment, for it if they wish and spend law enforcement money in other places it is sorely needed!

Does anyone know when this is going to trial? I hear the madam hired an attorney with a $30,000 retainer and all of the women are using that attorney and think all of the charges will get dismissed. Most of these women are heavy drug users and it is their children that suffer.

Well I am one who was arrested... Not for prostitution and their charges were bogus
but for medicinal marijuna... All other charges were dropped! I paid my time for a victimless crime!
If they had such a big case... Why have there been no charges formally made!
Answer no case!!!

What has happenned with this case? i know jennifer adams's children are still being raised by other people. It hasn't gone to court yet? it wasn't false charges, there was a 6 week investigation with plenty of evidence
