You guys can't seem to ever get the facts right. I am definitely not Rep. Benson.
I would agree, however, that there are serious issues facing the people of this district...and Rep. Benson has spent the better part of 8 years addressing those issues. First locally, as an elected School Committee member, as a member of the Lunenburg Capital Committee and Lunenburg Charter Review Committee and as our State Representative. During that time, her opponent, who you seem to support, has done ABSOLUTELY NO PUBLIC SERVICE. NONE. ZERO.
Is that your idea of how the job gets done?
Rep Benson, or maybe, oh please, Benson campaign staff, are you all the same person? If everyone on Beacon Hill has so much "public service" experience (that's the only criteria you think is valuable), why is MA such a mess?

I've been to two of Mr. Hayes "town hall forums" and they were not very well-attended.(one had only 7 or 8 people) They were informative however:
(1) like how, if elected, he will continue to work part-time at IBM, a large employer in the state. How convenient for IBM to have an employee as a State Rep. who, by gosh, just wants to make things "easier" for business. I want a full-time representative who will represent me, not one who will be distract by private corporate employment and its interests.
(2) like how he is "not a bystander", but someone who has to get "involved", yet he has never served on any committee, board or commission, elected or appointed in his own town while living there for 15 years (or so). That doesn't demonstrate an "involved" public-service oriented person to me.
It is easy to SAY how you would vote on matters (especially on matters that have already been voted upon). The difficulty is in making choices on legislation that is before you at the time. Mr. Hayes has no experience facing that and has no track record, so there is NO way of knowing how we WOULD/WILL vote in those matters. Put in casino terms, it would be a real crap shoot. That is why a public record and public experience is crucial.
To me, Jen Benson is the only real choice in this race.
You my friend have hit the nail right on the head. Not only has he not served on ANY public committees, he doesn't think they are important. Have you seen the YouTube video where he says he can keep his job at IBM and be the State Rep. because his wife stays at home and takes care of the kids. 1950? I think NOT. He is an insult to the voters, men and women alike. Just because you don't like how democrats in general are voting doesn't make Kurt Hayes a better choice. Inform yourself. That's the only thing you can do. Once you get to know Kurt Hayes you'll like him a lot less than you do on paper. Once you get to know Jen, you'll want to vote for her.

Same thing with the State Senator race. I'm not a Flanagan fan but her opponent is the biggest dolt I've ever heard.

Of course the republican bumlickers I know are going to just vote party line no matter what. I was prepared to vote against Jenny until I found out she was running against a guy one taco short of a combination plate.

Benson's record SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. THAT right there is reason enough to not vote her in!
Kurt's business experience and background also speaks loudly...his accurate and common sense approach make him the best candidate for the JOB. I do think however Benson could have quite the acting career, that's where her EXPERIENCE is larely based.

The fact that Benson, and all other dems for that matter, support illegals is enough for me.
Vote republican and get that checks and balances we have never had in Mass.

Not even considering her "benefits" for illegal aliens position, Bensons call for a deposit on all grocery bags on people who are struggling just to feed their family says enough for me.

I believe I read an article recently from someone who questioned how Benson could vote to raise the sale tax on one hand, and then justify her vote in favor of the tax holiday by claiming "it would generate business" on her other hand. Talk about handing someone their butt on a silver platter! Benson needs to go back to school.

Ok, that was funny!

As far broad brush, sweeping statements go, that one is the closest to God's own truth as I've seen.

So if the legislature became all republican would you start voting democrat? Or are checks and balances no longer a concern when the people you like get elected?
