Three years ago, Millie Nabalende was homeless. The 22-year-old Ugandan lived for a short while in a foster home in Westford but had to leave when she turned 18.

Government subsudies for people from Uganda?

Go figure.....

My American son and his two friends pay $1200 a month for a three bedroom. Was this story supposed to get me to feel sympathy for this woman from Uganda that's paying $133 a month on section 8?

Ya, lets not forget abour our American born elderly who can't afford their rent or anything else for that matter.

I am an American, can I go to Uganda get subsidies and pay 133. a month? WTF were they thinking printing this story. Just makes us hard working folks angrier by the minute. No wonder people go postal. I had welfare assistance when my parents got divorced for 1 year. And it was no free ride like it is now! My mom worked double shifts and we still lost our home. Give me a break. Oh sorry I am just a f#$$%%ing minority in my own country.

Good one The nerve let's move the elderly to where she lives.

She's complaining about paying $133 a month now and is worried about having it go up to $333?! And yes, where's the baby daddy? I'm an "immigrant" myself and happen to live in the Lowell area..paying $1050 market rate, for a two bedroom...driveway...big yard...with NO complaints! I wish I could get away with paying a measly $333! Get yourself a real job lady and that goes for all the others too!!

Makes all the hard working decent immigrants who come here for the Great American Dream look bad. No wonder this country is so divided. Stepping off my soap box now.

Wow! My mortgage is 1300/month. And she pays 133/mo? If I could pay that little, I would. Even $333...that's not much at all.

Her frick'n rent is cheaper than everybody's Verizon Fio's bill.

I own a two family property which I rent out. I have not been able to increase the rents much if any at all for five years. Back when the real estate market and economy was booming, I tried to list the vacant unit at a higher rent, not one call. Ended up having to come down $200 a month to get someone. You know why rents are high? Because a landlord's expenses are high, with taxes, insurance and maintenance. This article was an insult. She does not have to live here.

Relative to her last comment in this article "I feel like I owe a debt" You SCUM, you DO owe a debt. One, us taxpaying (WORKING) citizens will never see. I wish I was lucky enough to have ever have seen a $333 per month rental bill while working and going to college nights and weekends. No one helped me. What a pathetic article Dennis. If you feel so bad for her, why don't you contribute towards her rent, etc.?

What a country if you are not an AMERICAN!!!

She works 20-32 hours a week. With CTI (section-8) your rent is based on your income, so she will probably never work more than that so her rent will never go up. She can stay on section-8 for the rest of her life. It makes me sick.

Bad idea printing this article.

Honestly, this is going to continue forever and not be stopped. Do you know how many people I know that are on section 8, food stamps, fuel assistance, etc.. and are working under the table making more money than I do working full time and another part time job?? It is absolutely crazy! With that, they are driving newer cars than I have, hair done, nails done, etc... I wonder if the plan is to purposely get everyone in the US so disgusted with each other that we go to war amongst ourselves because I'm pretty tired of being the supporter of everyone else working the system.

Along with giving away everything to everyone did anyone notice the spokesman for CTI. Is there anyone working in this city who didn't get their job because they are related to someone? Are these jobs ever advertised? Just a thought.

ya know my best friend is able to pay her rent and all her bills while being a single mom and working . Yes times get tight for her but that makes her work harder . Her rent is 7 something a month w/out all the other bills she pays . So it goes to show just how lazy some people are because anyone can some how manage without needing state/tax payer help . Its sad but it is like this everywhere. When i lived in Ga , you would drive past the welfare office to see brand new lexuses , woman with high end clothes and hairstyles that came from Paris Hiltons stylist and no ever questioned that !? The clients drove better cars than the employees and no one asks questions? Give me a break !
