Wondering what happened to Pine Springs Resort near Cairo, NY. Spent many summer vacations there and have wonderful memories. Mike Garzilli's family owned it.

Can't seem to find the link. My dad's cousin Mike and his wife Adeline were the owners. I worked there myself a couple of times as a teenager.

I worked at Pine Springs from around 1958 to 1963; most times in the kitchen with George. Went to HS with both Mike & George.
Great place to vacation and work...many good memories

To Sandi T...what years were you and your family at Pine Springs...do not remember an EMt from historical past...The only other Michael, was Mike Jr., he couldn't bandage knees, but his wife could. Mike did mix wicked bar drinks.

The Mike I could remember was tallish and on the thin side. I do remember a woman bandaging my knee one day. Also remember a guy by the name of "Lenny" I think whose favorite saying was "Keep Walking".

To Sandi T there was a Lenny who was a cousin of Mike. Mike was from the Bronx...Lenny was from a town near Pine Springs; Greenville, NY.

What was the year you were at Pine Springs?

To Teresa from Staten Island...I worked with Dimitri. Late 1950's into the nim 60's. He was a character...But as young staff, we had control of the dance hall after he and the older folks left.

We all lived to dance the "fish"

Don'e remem, ber the 4 lovers performing there; at least not on stage...

I use to work there in the late 1970 to 1981, I was the Disc Jockey and did the lighting for the shows, and even sang there twice to fill in when an act did not show up. My mother still lives up there and said it burned down. I too have great memories of Pine Springs. I have lived in Lakeland/Mulberry , Florida for the past 30+ years.
Pine Springs was actually in Freehold and had a Freehold address. I remember Mike well and his father. They were my bosses when I worked there. I also remember well singer Connie Francis, who was married into that family.

As a student from Ireland, I worked in Pine Springs from June to August 1970. I drove a golf buggy around the property doing a sort of security watch, also worked in the kitchen. Old Mr Garzilli was a gent. I ran him down in the buggy once when I had too much to drink and he was ok about it. On one occasion, Mr Garzilli organised a collection when another Irish student had a few hundred dollars stolen. We had a fair idea who did it, but we couldn't prove anything. I remember the chef, but not his name.
There was a waiter we were friendly with, same age as me who used to sing "I gotta be me". Good voice. Then there were the visiting acts: one guy sang "Blue Moon" or was it "Black Magic? I think he had the original hit with it. Big change from Dublin of 1970. High blue skies...young waiters being drafted to 'Nam, fun around the pool. Fond memories of friendly Italian American people.

Spent the early 60's vacationing there with my family and cousins- all from the Bronx... I remember the bathing beauty contests by the pool - have a photo somewhere; the costume party; Connie Francis songs over the loud speaker, horse shoes, the pool and an early crush on a fellow vacationer from LI I think. I was a picky eater but at this resort chowed down the food all served family style at "our" table. Glad to find out it was actually in Freehold- I live up in the Catskills now and still think about those early vacations is these beautiful mountains and wondered where my father drove us to in his 61 Ford Galaxy!

thank for the info. I'll look up. I too spent the 60's and 70's with my family at Pine Springs. My folks met their life-long friends there in 1959. We participated in the dance, talent shows, costume parties...and of course listened to Jimmy Roselli sing there during their nightclub acts. My mom and friends used to take her fur stole on vacation there! I forgot about Dimitri the dance instructor...great memories! Thanks to all for posting. God Bless Mike and Adelaide for wonderful memories.
