Off-Duty Officer Found Shot In SUV

Police found an off-duty Upper Darby officer shot inside his crashed SUV Friday morning, investigators said. via NBC 10

From what I've been able to find out, this cop shot himself. Then, mysteriously, all news about this incident ceased. Why no info on this story? Is their some sort of cover-up underway?
