Municipal Authorities by their very nature are subject to miss-management. MAWC is no exception. Long a refuge for politcal patronage in jobs and currying political favors, it is time to review the entire structure including the Board, and the management organization that also has ties to my home town of Johnstown.

Compensation, timber and natural gas operations, hiring practices, and the relationship with the union. Are the rate payers in the service delivery area getting a good deal? Are high water rates an impediment to economic development? Since the service delivery area of MAWC and its management organization transcends political boundaries, perhaps the Auditor General or Attorney General should conduct an audit or investigation to determine to identity if ratepayers are getting a good deal

The Municipal Authority of Westmoreland is like a secret society. The same coterie of the politically connected have run the organization from day one. Kerr and company make too much money.

Why are on water rates going up when the Beaver run Reservoir is populated with gas wells. What is Kerr and Company doing with this revenue source. they should all take a pay cut.

Authorities by their nature are unaccountable. Kerr and Hohman and company are making too much money for their lack of fiscal stewardship.

I agree, recieved a threat to shut of water notice.... dahhh the bill had been paid 1 1/2 weeks prior. Tried calling service Department, placed on hold for over 45 min. each time. got mad hung up. I called 7 times same thing. I finally drove down and the guy says, oh this was paid 1 1/2 wks ago. Sorry, we will not sent you out a certified letter. I should hope not. May as well say, they have NO service Department for you to call, why bother having a ext. when no one answers? Oh, I even left three voice mails in three days, and no one called back to tell me, woops your bill has been paid. Getting pretty tired of the utility Companies raising our rates all the time and cutting their work force and giving us crappy customer service.

Apparently we are included in the area that should be boiling it's water for a few days, but we did not receive the automated call from MAWC. We didn't know about it until we read this mornings paper, more than 12 hours after it went into effect.

With all the 6 figure salaries at MAWC maybe it is time to find another entity to run the authority or the county take over and dissolve the Authority. Kerr, Cerasso and Company increased rates 27 % and then received 8 million dollars from Shale gas reserves. Where is this money going?

We need competent management not political hacks running the Authority!

I just found out that Cris Kerr is a manager at the MAWC and a part owner of Resource and Development Inc., a private company in Forest Hills that gets $1 million a year to manage the authority. RDM does all hiring and firing for the authority, which hired the firm in 1998.

Who do we contact to investigate this?

They hire political hacks like Ceraso and Cerilli. Check out the PG about these guys. There is an incestuous relationship with political parties and this organization.
