Why are these students celebrating a Mexican holiday at a US public school? And for that matter, why celebrate it all in the USA? If you so love that holiday, go back to Mexico and celebrate it there because your ties to another country seem stronger than the ties you have to a nation that allows you live here illegally and reap the benefits the rest of us born here don't get - free medical care.

BECAUSE THIS IS THE LAND OF THE FREE. IMMIGRANTS MAKE UP THIS COUNTRY. AS LONG AS THAT BOY SPEAKS ENGLISH AND IS PROUD TO LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LET HIM BE. LET HIM REMEMBER HIS FAMILY AND WHERE HIS FAMILY CAME FROM.

Point well made, and I couldn't agree more. St. Patricks Day is an excuse to party, get drunk, act like something we are not(Irish), and have a great time. Let's be honest about Cinco de Mayo, what Mexican gives a spit about the history of it? It's nothing more then their excuse to be falsely patriotic to a third world country they risk life and limb to leave, and who can blame them?

Did you not read the article? He spoke in Spanish to the newspaper "I said,'What's the problem?"' Camelo, speaking in Spanish, told The Times-News of Twin Falls.

Please give this teacher the award for patriot as well as teacher of the year. The mexican flag as well as the mexican government should have no place in America.

If someone wants to display or carry the Mexican flag they should do it in Mexico. Unfortunately, the illegal alien invasion and political correctness, as well as open border organizations such as the ACLU support this travesty and dishonoring of America.

How could someone assumes the kid doesn't speak English or is an illegal. Expressing one's appreciation of his or her cultural heritage is not unAmerican. However, expressing stereotypes and encouraging hate and discrimination are unAmerican. The kid is more American that some of the folks born in this country.

Remembering his family and where they came from is why they left Tijuana in the first place. Confederate flags and white sheets are also part of some peoples heritage, shall that be encouraged also?

I said it before. Those people that leave their country to come here do it because it's BETTER here.
So I say welcome aboard but do us a favor and leave your ways behind you or don't come. SIMPLE ISN'T IT

If he speaks spanish that's a pretty good indication he's an illegal alien or the anchor baby of one.

That's not racist/prejudiced American, it's an assumption based in fact and logic. Carrying or displaying a foreign flag in America certainly is not American. If you are here legally and become a citizen you have to swear your allegiance to this country and only this country. And if your an illegal alien from Mexico you display a Mexican flag on a Mexican holidy,in an American school funded with American tax dollars to educate foreigners for free like this kid. If I got my hands on that flag I would have burned it.

Nothing wrong with it, if you could point out things that you are proud of about mexico. Would like your insight on what there is to be proud of. My parents are from Mexico, came here legaly and have always thaught me to be proud and feel lucky I was born in the USA. They sufferred a lot in Mexico due to the corruption and they have never had any reason to be proud of that country.

Racist? What is racist about what I said? If I was from Tijuana I would want to leave also. There is alot of negatives in the USA, we can all agree to that, and speak it, however anything spoken about the negatives of third world Mexico is racism? Mexicans leave that cesspool in herds to be able to live here, do you blame them?
