Review: 36 Main Restaurant Wine Bar

Stay clear of this very loud and rude restaurant. there are many other choices in town. Beso, La Stazione, Harvest Restaurant, Barnabys

I've been there once and found it exactly the opposite! No joke, it was almost too quiet (and they were polite.) They even took back an entree we found too salty.
I've been to Beso and found it way too buttery - I consider that a cheat... It's easy to make anything seem half decent if it's rich enough.
As for Barnaby's? Please. You can't really call that a restaurant on the level of Beso or Main (I haven't been to the others you mentioned.) Barnaby's is family pub/frat bar depending on the date/time...
I'm curious why you didn't include The Gilded Otter, Bacchus or Locust Tree. Have you tried those?

36 Main is awesome.
The outdoor crowd on summer evenings is great.
Go there. Enjoy. Take a nice stroll down to the river once you are done.
No complaints, here.

Another thought - if you had an issue with a place, why not talk to the manager/owner to try to make it better?

In this economy more than ever - and especially in a small town - it's important to support local business and encourage growth and prosperity... instead of bashing it down.

Be part of the solution instead of going home and sulking!
