Its a real shame that the administration can not handle the students. These kids have not consideration for property or lives. If the administrations could take matters into there own hands like they could in 60s and early 70s there would be alot less of this crap going on in these schools. Also the parents might be more on top of what the kids are into. Let the principals take back our schools.

Dumbass little kids. Ok yeah its the last day of school, so you want to cause trouble or do some pranks...thats fine...but doing somthing that will get you locked up is just plain stupid...especially a senior...so much for college! Dumbas kids of PG County!

Kids are out of control. Parents are out of control. Give these "students" a week without electricity, a backyard toilet, cold water for washing, good old chores like chopping wood. Maybe air out the brains.

It is the responsibility of the parent to instill what is right and what is wrong. If a child brings a homemade bomb to school, it has nothing to do with the administrators. It's the parents. It's clear that the kids aren't afraid of what kind of punishment the school will hand out, but they obviously aren't afraid of what will happen to them when their parents get ahold of them either. I remember being horrified when that call went home about something I'd done. I skipped class in middle school and got caught. It was not fun to get home, let me tell you. These kids don't have that fear.

How is this type of "prank" any different than bringing a gun or knife to school?
I remember when senior pranks were supposed to be entertaining, not scarey. I went to an all-female high school; on our prank day, we decorated the inside and outside of school (along with male teachers' cars) with bras. That's a "prank," NOT setting explosives!
I also agree (somewhat) with Mari. I kept myself in line throughout my formative education b/c I feared the wrath of my parents if I messed up. It seems like a lot of kids don't have that type of motivation to keep themselves in line.

They are not kids. They are young inmates in the making. I would like to know the race of the kids who did this.

If these punks are eager to blow things up,they should join the military. I blame the parents for not teaching thier kids right from wrong.

Paul wrote: They are not kids. They are young inmates in the making. I would like to know the race of the kids who did this. Well Paul, I went to Friendly HS and graduated in '87 and the Patriot mascot that is located in front of the school was a creamy flesh color and about 4 years later he was chocolate. That may answer your question.

The school is in PG County... the class members race? BE SERIOUS.. their race is HUMAN.
The only thing PG County schools teach the students, is gun control, armed robbery, petty theft, welfare abuse, and carjacking.
Its no wonder they go thru school w/ such low expectations.. If they make it out alive & w/o a criminal record, its a MIRACLE.

"Device" "detonated" "bombs"?! Are we talking about IEDs in Iraq? No, we are talking about some kids filling plastic 2-liter soda pop bottles with chemicals that release a gas when mixed. And no, the gas is not explosive. Ever tried mixing baking soda with vinegar? Yeah, it's the same thing. Carbon dioxide is the gas you see. Inside of a bottle, it causes the cap to pop off. Geez, talk about over-reacting and blowing this completely out of proportion. Sure the little kids may be punks, but the article makes it sound like a Columbine-style massacre in the making. Come on NBC4, report it as it is: Stupid kids making a couple of pop bottles blow their caps off. These are not "devices" and they did not "detonate."

So it sounds like the kids are black. Which is good. Equality at last. Because it's usually crazy white kids blowing things up. ;).
