I moved here for the family atmosphere not to gamble. If the casino goes in I would hope that the power plant has a melt down and destroys it b/c having the casino would destroy the family's that live here already.

I don't have a problem with a casino. I also am tired of going to Philly or AC for a little fun.

I think that if we add the casino, it will only cause more problems, such as traffic, crime and other issues. It's a big chain reaction to where if we give up one thing we have to pay for it somewhere else. I strongly disagre to this, also I strongly disagree to so much housing and developments that all of our farming communities have gone away, but farming is where we essentially get our foods from so why not screw ourselves there too. The township is just out to make money, not worry if we can produce enough to live anymore.

T-Bo, read the article that LimRes posted.... there will be *no* casino in Limerick any time soon.

I think that the casino coming to the area is just what we needed. This would have aided in the property taxes and created thousands of jobs. They were worried about the crime rising. The shopping mall is going to create just as much if not more crime and traffic. I think the Supervisors should have said yes to the casino and conference center.

Boyd is selling their land in Limerick. There will be no casino in Limerick. Thank goodness the debacle is over.

The debacle may be over for Limerick but not for PA, which in the long run will affect us anyway. Jason, as far as property taxes go, is $200 really going to make a dent in what you pay? Anyway, by the time you see that $200 sometime after 2009, taxes will already have been raised enough to nullify it.

LOCAL GUY-also look at all the other people that posted before me, they said the same thing about a casino and you picked me out of the crowd. That takes some nerve.

The slots are not built on winners, they are built on losers.

I think a casino in the area would be a good thing for jobs, taxes, entertainment. Not worried about the traffic at all Start the proceedings to get a casino here

Ann, Philadelphia already has racetrack casinos nearby. The application for one in MontCo died. The applicant pulled their application because of local resident opposition and the opposition of a bunch of local governments.
nothing new

so i know this old news...and i am against a casino in the area as well. But i do wonder why they built the prime outlets in limerick. I know if i were someone who needed some quick money, i would head straight there. Obviously not nearly as much money as one might find wondering around a casino, but not nearly as much security either. Just a thought. Crime can happen at a casino, not a shopping outlet? how's that for logic.
And while logic is in play, i wouldn't think such an outlet mall would attract tourists either. that would just be silly. the only people who would shop there would live locally, therefore not causing any increase in traffic...yeah right.
Not to be a hypocrit, i have been there and shopped there. but i most certainly would have gone to the casino too.
