Yes, that is true. Wouldn't that be weird if the Republicans hired a Democrat like Parker to run the county with his wife being charged. That would not be a good move. Who could trust him?

Yes it is true and Fred had to know about it. Behind every good crook is another, his wife!

She is accused of embezzling more than $200 from Grundy National Bank, where she worked until May 2012, according to court documents." This is a quote from the paper. The exact amount is not known at this time. It says GREATER THAN $200 which makes it a felony. Where did you get that it was just $200.00?
It is more like 10,000 dollars.

I am sure he knew all about it. He helped spend the money. He knew about this and didn't do anything so he is an accessory to the crime. There is always one good crook behind every crook.

I will have to say something stinks with Fred Parker. If it is true he had replacement insurance I can see no reason why he should be given any money. Why should somebody make money on a tradegy? Also, being the President of United Way and taking money is not good too. Then you have his wife that is in trouble too. I don't think you should take taxpayer's money and give it to United Way. In fact, I don't feel I should have to pay for someone that is not smart enough to maintain insurance on their property. A lot of bad things can happen to people and do but as a country we just can't support everybody with other peoples money. It would be OK to loan the money at a low interest to help them get back on their feet. Charity should be left to church's and individual's that want to help. Government needs to stay out of it as they are most of the time the problem. If Fred Parker did receive money from United Way and received replacement cost for his home, he should be ashame and give the money back.
I agree!

I am saying he should have not taken any money from the United Way for his home. Period. He has home insurance and he makes plenty of money. I would have rather seen someone else get the money that really needs it. Also, the county IS NOT required to give your money to any organization that I know of. Post the code of Virginia that says they have to do it. This is taxpayer's money which is to be used to run our county. Go to United Way and ask them for a list of people who received money and post it here. It is public information. As for wanting some facts why don't some of you people get off you lazy behinds and go check it out for yourself. You people have no clue what facts are. Go check it out. All you can say is poor Freddie Parker. You need to look deeper into this. There is a lot of crazy stuff that goes on this county and it is people like you that are too lazy to check it out or investigate. It is time for the citizens to demand our county government to quit wasting and spending our money on stupid things. Why do we give money to people who don't need it? If you are an elected official of Washington County and you wife is charged with a crime I think that is news. Don't know why people think you should hide it from the public. I don't think Freddie Parker should have released a list of taxes owed on people running for a office either especially when some of them was an error on his part. Like I say what goes around comes around.

It is still alledged you fkn idiot, until the case is tried and if she is found guilty then she has been proven to have done it---and keep in mind she could be acquitted and that may not mean she didn't do it, just that it wasn't proven to the satisfaction of the judge/jury. Stop spewing crap out when you apparently are not half as smart as you must think you are.

find someone oother than you who really gives a sh*t about whose names he released to the paper...that's following the law and so what if a couple names were relesased were incorrect, the paper would print a correction. Like I said,, nobody gives a sh*t but you for whatever your grudge is about. It really must have been your name. Stop your crying, grow up. Pay your taxes on time and your name won't be published.

The point is this is the first time Mr. Parker had ever sent names to the Bristol paper. He only sent names of people that was running for office and pointed out to the paper they had not paid their taxes. HE did NOT send all of the peoples name, only a few. One was the person that was running against him and he had paid his taxes. Usually they are posted on the board at the treasure's office and on the county web-site, never in the Bristol paper. He was painting his opponent as a person who didn't pay his taxes to get more votes for his self. He was playing dirty pool. Even someone as dumb as you from Castlewood should be able to see that. Next, his wife will do a plea as not to expose her dirty husband in a court room. Besides she has already admitted to taking the money and gave it back. You are the idiot and I will be glad to match my smarts against you any day.

How do you know so much, are you a socalled friend and now are posting this crap on here. How do you know its 10,000? or that she gave it back? I find this so hard to believe and don't want to believe it BUT if its true, is it anything that can't be forgiven? I can't imagine what the Parkers are going thru at this time--there is no doubt that Freddie Parker has done a good job in the position he holds or he wouldn't have been in it as long as he has. It is policy to post names of taxpayers that haven't paid their county taxes as public record (that has been the prcess for many years) and if you are running for a public office, it is the "law of the land" to run as many negative things as you can in this day and time to get the jump on your opponent - look at our presidential election as an example. I would bet the names were correct at the time of submitting to the paper, but the opponent heard they were getting ready to print and ran and paid them but were to late. We do not know what is going thru a person mind when things convince them to do wrong things. Again people should be innocent untl proven guilty.

Innocent until proven guilty, yes.

Forgiven once proven guilty? How would you like the state to decide which offenses to forgive? Maybe all non-violent crimes... Maybe you can provide the state legislature with a list of your friends and they can be the "forgivables". There's no way that a convicted felon (which Mrs. Parker will be if convicted) should be forgiven by the state until the completion of her sentence. Here's a thought... If convicted she will likely never have the ability to vote for her husband again...

You may find this as a surprise but there are people that don't think Freddie is that great of a person. He is a taker and he has been mean to quite a few people in this county over the years. So it is OK to report something in a election to the paper because that is the way the game is played even if it is wrong. I don't agree. We are talking about local elections and it is not the end of the world if you lose. Well, it could be for Freddie since he has lived off the taxpayer's all his life. What ever happen to honor. Freddie does not have it. I guess next time when he runs then his opponent can spread the news about his United Way check and his wife. I am sure he may be going through a lot right now but other people have problems too. I don't feel sorry for him at all as I am sure he could care less about me too. I predict all she will get is probation but if it was somebody else they would go to jail. It's funny you post statements trashing us for doing the same thing that old Freddie has done to other people. So you say you are innocent to proven guilty yet the lie Freddie sent to the paper was wrong and you are saying Freddie was right. It was proven Freddie was wrong and you still are making excuses. Make up your mind you can't have it both ways.
