There is this story that originated in Abingdon about werewolves. Around 1797 there was a great battle between these indians who were also werewolves and these vampires who were also full time students. Well one of the vampires fell in love with this human girl that the werewolves were protecting. Anyways, a whole bunch of lame teenager stuff happened and then Gaston showed up to kill the beast to protect belle but belle was like "oh no I love him" and Gaston shot the beast and it all ended.

Probably the most real story you will ever find in the history of anything.

It was the residence of Dr. Francis Stein. He had a laboratory in grounds his home where he conducted experiments of an abhorrent nature involving body parts exhumed from the local cemetery. He also purloined human organs from the mortuary for his ghoulish experiments.

One dark autumnal night, several of the townsfolk were witness to strange events transpiring at the Doctor's home. Several flashes of lightning were seen to illuminate Stein's lab and a silhouette of a huge creature was seen to be looming over the Doctor.

The local constable was sent to investigate the following day ...

... neither the constable or Dr Stein were seen again.

Dr. Stein left the University of Ingolstadt around 1800 and moved to Virginia. Following in the footsteps of al-Khiḍr the Doctor had been experimenting with Exeer Al-ḥayat(elixir of life)using salted fish. Whether Stein was successful is debatable. Stein never published his findings. Parish records from that time are incomplete and the witnesses observations were dismissed as hearsay.

Local farmers reported missing livestock and a blood spattered trail marked with enormous foot prints.

It is Meade Dr. I live on Augusta. I know which house you are talking about being haunted. It is a different home than the one Dr. Stein used to live in.

No one knows for sure but historian Mary Shelley suspects it was sometime in the 50's.
