No, I don't think it's a fit. Just like the suggested "Gay Parade," it doesn't fit.

What good would it do? What do you want it to accomplish? Stop and think how you would feel if you were black and the KKK came to town? How do little black children feel and think? They are just as precious as any color.God loves them just like he loves you, he made em and that is good enough for me!

the kkk is a bunch of idiot loosers. no one needs them, not Abingdon, not Virginia, not the United States. VKR you need to find something useful and productive to do with your time and mind. Quit wasting your life on evil. Nothing cool or impressive about a white sheet with pointy hat.

KKK? NO WAY!!!

Seems so late 1800's, and kind of pathetically sad. As that Larry fellow says:

Should I hate a people for the shade of their skin?
Or the shape of their eyes or the shape Im in?
Should I hate em for having our jobs today?

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Hard enough to be proud of where you were born (Bristol TN) when folks are wanting to take it over for their own Krazy Klown Kulture-of-hatred BS.
just because

I support free speech, but the klan is basking in its own glow of lunacy. I respect the opinions and views of all, so long as they coincide with the harmony and prosperity of man as a whole. Having said that, I find myself feeling like I live in LA all of a sudden. There's far too many mexicans in this area and it depresses me. I suppose if I moved to North Dakota there may be some white dominance as far as population numbers go. I'm not racist, supremacist or anything resembling a redneck. Been friends with people of all walks of life of every color, as a species we should find ways to better our lives and the lives of others without the expense of suffering or discrimination to any other.

Hi David. I see you're back at it too. You lads go bowling tonight or have a food drive? You know, because the klan loves everyone and our community. I'm glad to see the three of you turnout for this thread.

RedHound,
In order to prevent the other posts from becoming a discussion about the Ku Klux Klan rather than its intentional topic (which recently occurred), it is necessary to "bring back" this page so that it can be discussed properly while at the same time preserving the other forums.

Semilocomtive,
If you truly support free speech, you would not be adding "so long as they coincide with the harmony and prosperity of man as a whole". That is easily translated into "I support freedom of speech for as long as it agrees with me".

To all,
Will you be willing to learn and speak spanish to accommodate those who fails or refuses to learn our English language? Are you willing to have our street signs, legal documents, etc... written in spanish, while English is in italics at the bottom? If not, it is time to wake up and see what is before your very eyes. This exact thing has already happened in Miami, Los Angles and many cities across our Nation already. In your desire to appear "tolerant, political correct and of unity", you have lost everything your ancestors provided you. If you wish to cower before them, it is your right to do so. Just don't get in my way

While I may not agree with the Klan's ideologies, I support their right to rally. The whole point of freedom of speech and association is to provide an avenue of expression for ideas which do not coincide with the majority's mainstream view. Thus, the aforementioned condition ("so long as they coincide with the harmony and prosperity of man as a whole") does not square well with me either. Such a condition is totally contrary to the idea of true freedom.

As I stated, I do no agree with the Klan's general messages. However, I do respect them for their continuing efforts which push the envelope. Even if it was not their main goal, they have helped safeguard some of the major rights provided by our Constitution. So, if nothing else, I respect the Klan for their contributions to the area of Constitutional law.

Personally, however, I would like to see a rally. I just think it would be so entertaining to see everyone get so up-in-arms over it. I like seeing people have their feathers ruffled... and I think that is just what this town needs.

That is a very interesting reply, "Youngster".
But it Is our intentions to safeguard our Constitutional Rights, as well as our Heritage, Culture and Values. It remains our purpose to aid and protect the widowed, the children and the disabled as well, just as we have done now for over 146 years. Sadly, many have been fooled by the liberal media, and as such they refuse to learn the truth about our Noble Organization.
Generally, we have much local support during our "Rallies", and the events are quite peaceful.(As with any "rally, protest or march" of any kind or nature, there are some anti's present). We do not do so to "ruffle feathers", but to serve as a reminder that we still remain strong, we are still very active, and that America still belongs to Americans. And we are keeping it that way.

I don't care if somebody's free speech or expression aren't in line with my own beliefs but I do feel that nobody should use free speech in order to harm or incite harm to others. Malice, intolerance and ignorance coupled with hate and the freedom to express it at will upon others and in some cases, those unable to defend themselves are the main reasons why there is so much unrest in so much of the world. Freedom is great, but also dangerous because man is a wicked thing. We are our own enemies.

Semi, Back in the 60's, MLK instructed his followers to riot, to vandalize and cause civil unrest across this Nation. As a result, more people were killed and maimed than in the same time frame of the Viet Nam War.
I have yet to hear you speak out against the wide-spread honoring of such a destructive individual who also embezzled 72% of all funds meant for the "movement", who regularly beat his wife, and cried out against our 2nd amendment rights (though he himself carried a .25 caliber, wore body armor & was never without at least 9 bodyguards in public, which didn't do him a bit of good in the end).

The is no exceptions. Either you support the same rights for your enemies as you do for yourself, or you simply do not support the Constitutional Rights for anyone other than yourself.

I, for one, agree with saberfox on very few principals; however, I would like to ask everyone else that likes to shove the KKK's face in their fantasy world too please let him keep this to one thread. I'm ashamed that people pull up topix and the entire page filled with KKK crap.

I agree that they have the freedom to speak their mind, and I agree with Saber's 2nd outlook.

As personally appointed Topix arbitrator, I propose that we give him his opportunity to say what he's gonna say anyway and ask politely that he doesn't make us all look backwater or promote third party hate web pages.

Deal?

You all know I'v harassed the man, just give them one thread - not twenty.
