Get over yourselves

First of all, I have to say...I have never attended this church, I don't think I know anyone that has, and I don't know any members.
Now that that is out of the way...

It seems to me like waaay too many people on here are eager to bash this church. Unless you are a member, or even attended regularly, how can you really know what goes on there???

The egg drop (I didn't do that, either) was a brilliant idea. I would guess that most of those people would not have attended ANY church Sunday, if not for the egg drop.

Please, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

I don't know about the unlimited saleries but I do know that I was in Bristol today and stopped by the dollar store next to HF BRistol. I saw what was amazing to me. People going in the office for free cloths. No more talking about this church people! I have never seen a church just give cloths away. I've seen churches have yard sales but not this. I'm not a member either. Just a citizen looking at a wonderful people doing good deeds! Highlands Fellowship, keep on working for God and you all will be blessed.

You want to see a church that gives and gives and pays peoples bills that are having problems. Go to Damascus to One Way Ministeries. They give and give and are no where the size of HF. They have a food pantry that serves around 300 families and a thrift store that workers work 3 days a week -all volunteers and then give to people hard up or their homes have burnt down. HF I'm sure is doing a great job, but if you look around you'll find more. I do have first hand knowlege since my aunt and uncle attend O.W. I go elsewhere and have to say OW beats us when it comes to helping the community and their people. I did go to the ladies thrift shop they have one Saturday and saw with my own eyes 2 ladies working hard and helping a little lady pick out stuff for her grandchildren that had basically been dumped in her lap. Do you know they gave her several bags of childrens clothes and books? This store in business GAVE AWAY, no wonder they are staying in business I guess their heart is in the right place. Keep up the good work HF and OW

I went to Highlands Fellowship once and couldn't figure out why armed guards would be necessary in a church. I would never return back and doubt I know anyone of financial standing to become a member. A friend was interested in becoming a member of the church and was required to release a statement of net worth before the powers that be decided if he could become a member of the church. I have come to call it the "Cult Church."

Completely untrue. Never in a million years man. For your one lie I know hundreds who would tell you it's untrue.

Out Of Buch that is a flat out lie. I go to the Bristol Campus and we have lots of folks that come there that have very little. Your friend is a liar and you are too. A Devil's liar. I'm tired of the slander we get at HF. We do more missionay work than any other church in this whole area and our primary purpose is to help people come to know the salvation of Jesus Christ. As far as armed guards that is also a lie. Come to the Bristol Campus next week and you and I can sit through the service together and then say what you just have. I don't know what your problem is but I hope you can get closer to God. If not at HF then a church where you fit in. At the Bristol Campus we are going to begin a saturday evening service because we have so many people attending . The Pharisees had the idea that Jesus and his diciples were a cult so in the long run what you think is only a minor distraction to what we are doing for the Lord Jesus at HF.

Still Partying what do you believe in? You sound like you want to become a christian but you are so caught up in your lifestyle you're afraid of letting it go. You are afraid and insecure and you are looking for something. Drugs, sex, alcohol, money, cars, none of that stuff works. The only answer is Jesus Christ. He loves you whether you believe or not. Let him in and you'll be okay.

My lifestyle? My lifestyle is that I don't intoxicate my body in any way shape or form, don't eat meat, and don't f*ck around. As for material possessions, I couldn't care less. I believe that life is precious. Not because some being zapped us into existence, but simply because life is all that we have.
I don't believe in any particular religion because I have yet to see proof or even solid evidence. I certainly don't believe any of the major western religions because there are far too many contradictions in the texts to come to any sensible conclusions on anything.

And to the person who thinks that people who aren't religious must be miserable, not having anything to live for:
I hold the position that we can live happily, if for no other reason than that we have memories. Then there is the present, which we have the ability to stop and savor. In essence, we seize reasons to live as they go by and hold onto them.

I will say, however, that I have nothing against this church in particular. I simply do not believe what they teach.

Overall, you seem like a very nice person. It seems you have decided you don't need religion. Have you ever thought that you might be wrong about God? What if you are wrong? Look at the consequences. Read "The Case for Christ" by Stoebel. Its about a reporter (former atheist) who tried to disprove Christianity and the more he researched the more he believed in God and the bible. His book can present the argument/facts/details more effectively than I can on this website. The devil has you right where he wants you. I believe that God allows bad things to happen to good people sometimes to "get their attention" to "make us realize that we are not in control" to "mess with our temporary life if it makes us turn to him to ensure a permanent life with him" so.....be prepared for life to take a turn someday and when it does, remember God will be there to help you and love you.
Praying for you my friend.

That's great and all, and I'm sure you have good intentions, but perhaps you should waste your prayers on somebody else.

If you believe in a religion because you are afraid of the consequences of what might happen you are standing on shaky ground. If someone ever presents me with legitimate information that can be verified that proves the existence of a god, I'll believe them. And perhaps there is a creator, but it's a question that I seriously doubt anyone will ever have any definite answer for, so I'm not going to waste my life worrying about it. I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

as for getting a life, I think mine's pretty alright. My days are fun, exciting, and eventful. Anyway, I'm still partying.

It seems that HF has centered their services around entertaining people. Church is not meant to be entertaining. It is to praise God and to learn what the Bible says about how we are to live our lives. I attend a very conservative church and can see how HF has not approached worship in the correct manner.
