I know if I was ever in an accident out that way I'd hate to have to trust my life to them.

To my knowledge Medowview is only a fire department. I haven't heard that they are now Fire & Rescue. Because everytime they are dispatched out on a call depending on where it's at either Washington County Lifesaving Crew or Glade Lifesaving Crew are dispatched as well.

No EMT just fire.A awesome bunch of men.Always respond fast and enough help to do the job.Meadowview needs at least one rescue truck so we don't have to wait on Glade or Valley to decide if they want to come or not.

Meadowview Fire Dept. has members trained well in fire fighting knowledge, extrication, etc. as well as several EMTs. Their response times on any type of call are usually less than 5 minutes.

These men and women in all southwest VA put their life's on the line everytime they answer that tone. If people dont think they do a good job then why aren't u out there doing it.Don't judge them unless u are ready to step into their boots. Thank God we have people who volunteer their time to help others

I will tell you that the meadowview fire dept personnel does everything in their power to get to the scene and they are volunteers ... They get out of their warm beds at 3 am to go out in the cold and snow to try do their job then have to go to a job when they get done... How many sorry people do you think would do that around these small towns... If i remember correctly Meadowview is scattered so far out that it takes time to get to some these places they are called out to... I live in abingdon now and we all know they only have certain jurisdictions that they go ...

We do Fire & Rescue but we do not run an ambulance, Two of our trucks are Rescue pumpers meaning they are equipped for about any situation from a fire, car crash with someone pinned in, industrial accidents and we have also added rope rescue equipment to both trucks. Oh yea as for the poster talking about Otis, he is no longer an active member.
