By the only standards that we have for a judicial process in our Country, he is innocent. Remembering that a trial is NOT required to prove innocence, only guilt. Everyone in this Country has the luxury (or not) of a presumed innocence until trial proves otherwise. There was no trial, so he is innocent according to the laws of our land.

There will always be those, who for whatever reason, want the Godly to fall and fail and be able to point fingers at. No matter if there had been a trial or not, they will always WANT to believe a person guilty. That's between them and their maker.

However, today, John W. Price is innocent of the charges brought against him. That's a fact.

COULD I BE AS GUILTY AS SIN AND PRESUMED INNOCENT? IS THAT POSSIBLE? JUST ASKING.

Every citizen has the right to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a court of law and convicted by a jury of their peers. That's just how it works in our Country. Gossip and rumor don't get to decide guilt or innocence, thank the Lord.

June 24th is a Sunday. Y'all have court down there on Sundays? Might want to check that information. Something doesn't seem right. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Of course he's innocent. All charges have been dropped and are unfounded, the Washington County judicial system has spoken.
I knew he'd be damned if he was found innocent as well. There are those who choose to always believe the worst things a person can say about another. There are people in this world who live for the moment that someone appears to fall. There are people who love to kick someone when they are down. That's just how folks are, always looking to validate their own selves by pointing out potential flaws in others.
Those people, to me, are not Christian people.
Even Jesus was persecuted in his hometown. Guess you'll say he deserved it too. We are ALL human and all sin. Best as I can tell, no one sin is worse than another to God.
Looks like Price could still have his day in court.

“We have substantial evidence of multiple felonies he perpetrated against this young lady as a juvenile and … an adult,” Washington County, Va., Commonwealth’s Attorney Nicole Price said Thursday.

"been praying" You called the 14th the 12th and then you would correct someone for getting the month wrong. For the record, it is July 24th.

He's innocent of these charges, that's been proven. BUT, we ALL are sinners and all those who have been so eager to "cast the first stone" on a perceived sin should be looking at their own lives. Better to have Christians praying for Gods Will than burying a man and his family before facts were revealed.
No one is sinless in this world. No one.
Proven innocent but everlasting damage to a family that can not be taken back.
No one has said anything against his family. All I have ever seen for his family was sympathy. And, its not over yet so no he hasn't been proven innocent.

So all the previous sexual assault charges against Rev. Price were dropped yesterday. Except the stalking. BUT the Commonwealth is going to present NEW evidence to the grand jury on July 24 about multiple felonies allegedly committed against this girl by Mr. Price. The Grand Jury may or may not choose to hand down indictments, they almost always do.

Guess it's another waiting game. Seems they would have gotten their evidence together the first go round before they arrested a man.

I'll continue to pray for everyone involved.

Up until now you have been praising the judicial system. Saying Mr Price was PROVEN innocent by the charges being dropped.(He was not PROVEN innocent, he is PRESUMED innocent. Big difference. Proven would have meant there was PROOF he was innocent.) Now all of a sudden it looks like you want to criticize the process saying "Seems they would have gotten their evidence together the first go round before they arrested a man." Looks like you would practice what you preach. Let the process begin. I say we have a very good Commonwealth's Attorney - let the chips fall where they may.

I was never SINGING THE PRAISES of the judicial system. Just saying that in this Country, that's what determines guilt or innocence, not rumor and gossip. It was a statement of fact, not of praise regarding our courts.

It's also a statement when I say that I think you'd not arrest a man (or woman) on such serious charges without enough evidence to go forward.

You read way to much into my words that aren't there. We have a judicial system and it works, most of the time. Even when it doesn't, it's all we have.

Charges may or may not be filed again, they may be different or they may be new. Those bridges will have to be crossed when they come. In the meantime, only God, the female and Mr. Price REALLY know what did or didn't happen. Unless a scandalous tape or photos show up, it's mostly a he said - she said situation it would seem.

Those who believe, for whatever reason, that Mr. Price is guilty will continue to do so no matter what the outcome. Those who believe him innocent will most likely continue to believe that as well. Unless there is some evidence presented that says otherwise.

There are points I would like to discuss that I find it hard to understand the exact crime but I won't in such a public forum. I'll just continue to pray for all this has touched.

Dropping charges does not equate to an innocent verdict. It simply means the state/county did not feel they could prove his guilt.

There are many people who live among us that are pedophiles....
There are many more people who know them, trust them, and would never believe they are pedophiles..
Many serve in positions of trust..

It's easy to say "I know he wouldn't do such a thing" but you really don't know.

There are indeed pedophiles that live among us. BUT this is certainly not a case of Mr. Price being accused of being a pedophile. This was a 17/18 year old young woman. The age of consent in the Commonwealth is 17.
We don't need to make the allegations murky and into something they are not.

"Over protective"? Are you kidding me? Just stating simple facts. I don't have a dog in this fight. BUT I was involved in a case several years ago where a gymnastics coach was charged with a similar crime but against a 14 year old.
The man was arrested, taken from his family and lost his business, his home and everything he had even before the trial happened. It was over a year before the trial finally took place.

It started when her parents had been listening in on a phone conversation of their daughter describing sex acts she had with someone. When they confronted her, she said it was with her Coach.

They took immediately action as any parent would by contacting the police.

After a year and a half the trial was held two hours from our town. There were maybe five people out of five hundred that supported him and his family. They were a wonderfully giving and loving family. They helped everyone, the man wasn't only a Coach, he volunteered on the rescue squad and they were devout Christians, yet everyone turned away from them.

Evidence at trial proved that the girl was talking about her 16 year old boyfriend on the phone and didn't want him to get in trouble so said it was her Coach in a panic. Boyfriend confirmed this. Police reports confirmed that the parents SUSPECTED it had been the 16 year old all along yet let this continue. Police reports also showed that this girl and her boyfriend had been "caught" not once but FIVE times in less than a two year period parked behind a local school in various forms of undress and activity.

This man was acquitted at trial well over a year later and when he had lost everything. Just because he was acquitted didn't mean he got his life back, his reputation back, his house back, his business back. There are of course those that refuse to believe any bit of proof that it didn't happen and he ended up having to move his family several States away to start over.

People say these things happen for a variety of reasons, including because they DID happen, but many times they just didn't.

It does happen, people do lie about things like this. It makes it even harder when someone IS telling the truth but I've seen firsthand what it's like when someone changes facts and ruins an entire family.

I just find it unlikely that this charge is factual in this situation given the circumstances and that's just my opinion. Everyone has their own.
