With Gas Prices below $3, Republicans Suddenly Silent On Obama’s Role

Experts predict average gas prices may fall below $3 this fall after dropping 14 cents in two weeks. When prices hit a record high, Republicans attributed sole responsibility to President Obama, even though there is no evidence that factors like drilling impact what consumers pay.
Just two months ago, Republicans said Obama shouldered the blame for rising gas costs, and that only he had the “key” to lower gas prices:
Mitt Romney, March 18, 2012:“He gets full credit or blame for what’s happened in this economy, and what’s happened to gasoline prices under his watch, and what’s happened to our schools, and what’s happened to our military forces. All these things are his responsibility while he’s president.”
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), April 6, 2012:“The president holds the key to addressing the pain Ohioans are feeling at the gas pump and moving our nation away from its reliance on foreign energy. My question for the president is: what are you waiting for?”
Boehner, April 6, 2012:“The president’s own policies to date have made matters worse and driven up gas prices.”
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Feb. 28 2012:“This President will go to any length to drive up gas prices and pave the way for his ideological agenda.”
Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), March 13, 2012: Obama is “fully responsible for what the American public is paying for gasoline.”
Are Republicans now reversing their rhetoric and giving Obama credit for falling gas prices? Of course not.
Former Virginia Sen. George Allen, who is running to reclaim his old seat, is another lawmaker who has misled on the gas prices. Last month, ThinkProgress reported that Allen is pushing a graphic that not only compares gas prices to an artificially low amount, but lists a “current” price from April, even though Virginia gas prices are now more than 40 cents lower per gallon.
Obama’s policies haven’t changed since April: the Keystone XL pipeline has not been built, drilling hasn’t drastically changed, and the same regulations are in place. Yet gas prices have fallen. Economics says he isn’t responsible, either way.

Of course nothing can be proved with this transparent administration, but is it coincidence that oil prices drop a week after he stops for a visit in Saudi Arabia? Is it also coincidence the EPA changes it's policies/strategy after taking the bully spotlight? Were you crying that it was Bush's fault when the panic took it to $4 after Katrina?

Actually why gas is going down is not because of obama at all, while the oil was being drilled, the workers drilled into an extra surplus of fuel so we have so much of a supply right now that the price is going down

Do you actually believe the federal government John Dewey educated people of America will understand POLITICIANS, including both branches of the ASP, American Socialist Party, POLITICIANS do NOT control oil prices, Hmmmmm? MARKET, MARKET, MARKET is the driving engine of the price of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. When it comes to economics, the majority of the American public is dumber than a coal bucket with the bottome eat out. Actually it is concerning everything, the majority of the federal government John Dewey educated are dumber than a coal bucket with the bottom eat out.

What controls oil prices? The oil market. Who controls the oil market? OPEC. OPEC is controlled by enemies of the US, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Iran, Nigeria and others. The United States has beaucoup oil the Washington elite will not let us drill, thereby being held oil hostage to these sworn enemies of America, Americans and the American way of life. We could have been totally oil independent, a seller instead of a buyer if the Washington elite would have let American companies alone to run their businesses. Russia selling OIL and NG to Europe like crazy and America buying world oil like crazy while letting our oil and NG stay in the ground. In 2012, not only is Washington totally useless to America, it is detrimental to America, working against the American people to line their pockets and drive the country deeper and deeper into socialism.

And National average per gallon currently $3.72 per gallon.

"Triple-A says the national average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.72. This price is 5 cents more than one week ago and 29 cents more than one month ago. It's also 14 cents more expensive to pump gas than last year at this time."

Paying over double price per gallon under the lack of leadership from Obama and thugs.

Thank Obama and his supporters every chance you get or at least every time you fill up , especially when you vote in November.

Obamanomics: Gas Prices Skyrocket in July

Gas prices skyrocketed last month. The average price of a gallon of gas zoomed up 26 cents, which makes Barack Obama’s reelection chances even murkier than they are already.

Of course, Obama is considering making us even weaker strategically in order to boost his political chances by reducing prices; last Thursday the Administration publicly discussed releasing oil from the government’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Shockingly, the international community criticized such a move:

Maria van der Hoeven, executive director of the International Energy Agency, said, "There is no reason for a release.”

But if there is another oil issue that complicates matters, such as refinery outages, hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, or, most of all, trouble with Iran, the prices may skyrocket even farther.

Mitt Romney had called for the firing of Energy Secretary Stephen Chu, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, and EPA administrator Lisa Jackson before for their refusal to lift restrictions on offshore drilling and public land. The Obama administration has responded by defiantly whistling in the dark; in March. Obama said,“Anyone who tells us we can drill our way out of this problem doesn’t know what they’re talking about, or isn’t telling you the truth." If we can't drill our way out of this problem, how does releasing more oil solve it, either?

Gas prices are crippling the economy, as consumers have less money to buy other things. The answer is higher oil production. But Obama doesn't want to allow Americans to have a long-lasting supply of oil. Instead, he just wants them to rely on his all-merciful wisdom in releasing gasoline, drop by drop, when it most suits him politically.

Retail Prices

Retail prices for regular grade increased 0.6 cent to $3.756 a gallon yesterday, the highest level since May 7, according to AAA, the largest U.S. motoring group. Gasoline at the pump cost $4.138 in California yesterday,$4.008 in Connecticut and $3.973 in New York.

The nationwide average fuel cost rose to $3.75 a gallon on Aug. 26, the highest price ever for that day, Michael Green, a spokesman for AAA in Washington, said in an e-mail.

“We expect the national average price of gasoline for Labor Day this year to be the highest ever for the holiday,” he said.

Drivers could be paying $4 a gallon by the end of September, Schork said.

More like gas prices are closing in on $4.00 a gallon. Blame it on the hurricane, the government printing too much currency, etc. Who knows?

Our government does not own the oil and they don't set the price for oil. The oil companies (and those that own their oil) and the free market set the price.

Glad Willard did though so the Obama supporters can attemp to defend the failure they helped elected.
