True Lies - your name says it all. For people who don't know Chapman, let me tell you what True Lies does not - the truth.

Chapman is located close to JC, Ft. Riley, Abilene, and even Manhattan (30 miles away) so there are plenty of places where you can find a job. You will have to drive but with JC being only a 10 minute drive, it isn't that bad.

JC is not a bad town. There is just as much crime in Salina as there is in JC.

Chapman is a town.....not a city....and most of the people like their little town just fine.

The "money-grabbing" school district does take 75% of the county to pay for it's schools but that is because 75% of the county IS the school district. There are four elementary schools, a middle school and a high school located in one of the largest rural district in Kansas. And no matter where you live, you will be paying taxes to some school district somewhere. Chapman doesn't tax more than the area schools around it.

JC students coming to school in Chapman is no different than any other students. There are really good hard-working students and then there are those that like to do nothing but complain....about everything....and everyone.....

The Sports program is down in Chapman right now......but let me ask you something True Lies.....what are YOU doing to help it?

Nope....nothing to do with the military. Why the absolute hatred for JC and the people who live there?....or the military? Why the hate period? Maybe the problem isn't with Chapman or JC but with you? Or are you one of those people who complain about everything and anything because you feel it somehow makes you better?

I kind of like Chapman, and would probably move there if it had all the things Abilene does. Chapman does not suck, but if you think it does, move. I am sure your neighbors will help you.

One thing I can't stand is a coward. Make a statement and refuse to back it up.
Mr. Brown is a good man. He genuinely cares about the citizens of Chapman. He isn't perfect, but did his best to be a fair and honest public figure for the town. Fair even to the extent of not allowing the demons of his personal life to affect his judgement as a professional.(As impossible as it may have seemed to him) Many of you don't understand his dedication to his former profession. Maybe it was an escape for him, maybe it was his passion. But, corruption? No.
His professional mind set was to keep that town safe and prepared for anything. Never a desk jockey and always looking to improve the department. The safety of the town was always priority number one, as it should be from a police chief. Any town would consider itself lucky to have such a man in the position.
I will not stand for an unfounded accusation about him to go unchallenged. Either explain yourself, or your comment will be considered as one from just another troll.

I like Chapman. We are military, lived here for 3 years, and have done well here. I don't like that there is no grocery store, which is being built now; I don't like that there is no after school care for children, and that my neighbors let their dogs run around digging in my front yard. None of this actually Chapmans fault but being a military family and knowing others having the ability to remove your children from the military setting for a percieved "normal" life is beneficial. I dnt mind the taxes because I want my children to have a good education an I would think that Chapman would appreciate having one of the best districts in the state. That is the main reason we chose chapman. It appears to me that although there is some things that I wish Chapman has, however, it isn't a bad drive to get what I need.

Toyota is right, now 2016 a lot has come out if you all new then what we all know now maybe there wouldn't be as much support for chapman. The town is divided into four groups, political the other political low income and the snobs a lot of snobs. Almost 80 percent of families are divorced or remarried weekend parents and there all screwing each other. The old bag that runs the golf course is very discriminatory. Same with the southern comfort cafe I know because it has happened to my family many times

It was nov.30th a child was physically ,mentally ,and bad touching by a teacher in middle school. 2016 The principal new for three days and this child was left in the teachers class room. The teacher pinched her so hard many of times on the 30th of nov. my child had chunks of meat tooken out of her arm and bruises all the way up her arm. Nothing was done until parents found out on accident by anonymous source and dec.2nd was supposed to be arrested but is trying to be swept under rug he has been abusing I know of one young child for months. Every one from school authority failed to keep this child safe she now has to take counseling and is being bullied. Male teachers are have been accused year after year for sexual misconduct but they up and disappear and that's the last you here huh wonder why
