I'm just traveling through your lovely town so maybe I shouldn't be commenting on local issues but this topic really torques me off. These people are playing the handicap card and I don’t like it. Handicapped or not, they had no right to be parked in the IGA lot and hog those spaces all day. Are these the kind of people you want in your City Counsel? There’s no way I would vote for these money grabbing idiots.

This whole situation is an eyesore for Ocean Shores. 1st of all, the IGA parking lot does not have the proper signage to have a vehicle towed from the lot, unless that vehicle has been parked there over 24 hours. 2nd. The IGA manager was not apprised of the proper regulations. However, in his defense, he did contact the city - and the code enforcement officer provided incorrect information to the manager causing the manager to have the vehicle impounded. This entire situation still could have been avoided if the driver for North Beach Towing would have refused to impound the vehicle.
However, it seems as if the Mayo's set IGA, the City of Ocean Shores and the Tow Company up to make a statement. For what result I cannot determine. His actions do not show any respect for the IGA grocer who's lot was packed on such a busy weekend and his suit against the parties involved is outrageous and totally uncalled for. I trust that a judge will only reward him the reimbursement for the improper impound suggest the the Code Enforcement office in OCean Shores familiarize herself with the Washington State Towing & Impound laws.
I agree with Mike that neither he or his wife will get my vote for City Council. It appears the city has enough incompetent people on the counsel that disregard the best interest of the residents of Ocean Shores and the surrounding community.

Why didnt Mayo just ask IGA for permission? I've seen the Mayos walking around fine, so I can only assume their handicap is mental, and suspect since they are playing the handicap card, they will also play the race card. The IGA lot is private property so they should have the right to impound any vehicle at any time. North Beach Towing only did what they were asked by IGA. The City code enforcement should have cited them long ago for signage when thier campaign car was parked by the Homeport. They should only hope they arent countersued for time lost by the companies being sued. They wont get my vote.

I have no idea that there were comments here posted against us.

I would like to apologized for the inconvenient and troubles we had caused at the IGA parking lot.

Everyone have no opportunity to know the facts of the matter. My late husband (who died of cancer and other medical probems)at that time he suffered from muscle and nerve inflammation which caused his whole body including the leg immovable and helpless. We were not home and there was no way he can resolve any problem regarding the parking at the IGA. We miscalculated the hours and misunderstand the risk of being towed due to the uncontrollable and unexpected medical problem that Mr. Mayo had which happened all the time.

The suit against the IGA was filed due to Mr. Mayo's felings was hurt but was canceled the next day. As we know, we are all human being who reacts at the same time craves compassion or some sympathy.

Our goal as a good couple was to serve the Ocean Shores Community who needed a genuine help from our heart. God knows we willingly tried to offer ourselves but was not successful due to medical incidents within the election time.

Sincerely yours,

Eleonor Mayo

Dear resident of Ocean Shores,

I respect your own opinion or assumption about our parking issues at the IGA.

Please accept my apology for the problem we had caused during that time, with some exception to the fact that my late husband had suffered from unexpected medical problem internally and only a medical doctor can resolve it and no one else. I am sorry.

Truly yours,

Eleonor Mayo

Dear visitor,

Thank you for posting your comment about the local issues pertaining to miscalculated hours or misunderstanding parking at the IGA. With due respect, I am sorry that you have had not fully inform of my late husband unexpected medical situation which occured that particular day. He had suffered pain all over his body. Commercial's rights, privileges, or conditions was not the issue. Unfortunately, my late husband was medically ill and he had no control over the cirmcumstances that happens without noticed.

My apology to whom it may concern.

I swear to God, It was all because of my late husband's medical problem that occured unexpectedly and nothing else. Everyone had experienced this same unfortunate circumstances. I wish my late husband was not ill that day. Please accept my wholeheartedly apology to you and everyone.
