Abuse Probed at Polygamist Compound

Until the raid on their compound last week, the women and girls of the Yearning for Zion Ranch spent their days caring for its many children, tilling gardens and quilting, dressed in pioneer-style dresses sewn ...

I read where 400 children, mostly girls were removed from the compound.

Where are the boys who were given birth by these women? I feel certain these women and young girls are giving birth to both boys and girls.

I suspect something is not right. It also reads a doctor office on sight. UM??

You know, I read that too on 11news from Atlanta, GA who is citing "AP" for that figure.

I've not seen "400" on any other news report so I am suspect of this one report.

"By Monday, state authorities had taken legal custody of 401 children, saying they had been harmed or were in imminent danger of harm."

Or maybe they are the first to report a revised figure from Monday.

This ole cult mormon stuff again! They need to bust up every one of them. They know the stuff going on within the cult is not right, yet folks still tend to get mixed up and lured into this lifestyle. Why? Why is it that so many folks are weakminded and fall for anything. Even if it subjects your children to nasty ole perverted men!!!!

This is so sick!!! The volunteers have been saying that the people are very distrusful of them and very isolated in their own cult.

The people don't eat processed food, drink coffee, tea or cabonated drinks and the children didn't know how to play with toys. They didn't know what crayons were or how to use them.

I pray this cult is stopped. My heart
goes out to the women, and children.
Jesus die for our sins to be forgiven. The Lord is the strength of his people. Psalm 28:8 God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Hebrews 13:5-6
May God give you peace, and comfort you.

There is a lot in this news article to be upset about, but not this. I don't eat processed food, drink coffee, tea or drink carbonated beverages either. I'm actually trying to out live the one husband that I have! For somethings, one is more than enough.:)

I guess eating processed food is good for us now? That is ridiculous. This is the lifestyle these particular Mormons chose to live, not all Mormons are polygamists.

This is sad! I am sure that other people in other places going through the same mess. They should lock them up and throw away the keys!!!! Those kids should not have to go through any of that. That's the reason that there are so many cases of autism in children that are born in these so-called religious groups!!!

They are not "Mormons" as you seem to think. You are using the term Mormon to identify members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. These people are not member of the LDS church. By your definition, most Christian religions are all Catholic, as Protestantism is an off-shoot of Catholicism.

Articles like this frustrate me.

How can adults do this to children and how can women accept this type of community?

There are some sick puppies in this world.

Hey, you would be a little standoffish too if you had been snatched without warning from your home by fat necked uniformed state pigs brandishing guns and then put in a state concentration camp! This is probably the way the Jewish children of WW 2 reacted when they were systematically rounded up and taken into protective custody by the Hitler regime.

I just hope that they do not go back to that lifestyle. It is nothing but a red light district being covered over by religous views. These are dirty old men at these places and the women have NO RIGHTS AT ALL. So sad, I had a friend when I lived in AZ that left a community like this and the stuff she told me would make your heart break and your blood boil if you have any respect for women. God help them all and I hope they see that there is a life out there for them and that the people of Texas will embrace them and their children and teach them the right way of life.

Don't get your panties in a twist. I was NOT suggesting that eating processed food or drinking carbonated beverages is good for us or the norm... I was merely repeating what volunteers were saying.
