Lightner to step down as Kimberly school superintendent

I personally know Mel and he has given his heart and soul for Kimberly School District. Many great impovements have occurred during his tenure. People do not realize that a good school district affects property values, people moving into the town, jobs, etc...Kimberly owes Mel alot for directing that community and the standard of living in the community in which live. Mel will be fine. He will move on...but Kimberly still has, obviously, the people who are trying to do the job of the people they have elected. Good luck Kimberly...your getting what you want....turmoil...and no one looking out for your children. The people should stand up for Mel...and not let these loud mouths...take over.
If he felt and the school board had reason to dismiss this man from his coaching job....they need to trust who they have elected to make the right decisions for their children. They have their reasons and it is to protect your children ...Kimberly!! Too many egos are in the way of protecting children!!

This is just another in a long series of bad decisions Mel has made regarding firing of staff. His style has been to jump to a conclusion and carry out his conclusion by an assassination style attack. He has fired staff for following directives issued by his senior staff because he did not have a fair procedure to find this out. So this is just his bad behavior finally catching up to him. The only thing wrong with this picture is that Mel wasn't fired long ago! He shouldn't manage staff ever again! Mel's ego is in the way of what best for our children!
