SC congressman says it's God's 'intelligent design' to drill for oil

There are 10 comments on the The Island Packet story from Mar 30, 2018, titled SC congressman says it's God's 'intelligent design' to drill for oil. In it, The Island Packet reports that:

An Upstate congressman says it's part of God's "intelligent design" that the Palmetto State can tap offshore oil reserves. "I'm a Christian, I believe in intelligent design, and I also understand that when we're talking about oil or fossil fuels, in general, God gave us the ability to discover there are resources known as fossil fuels inside the Earth that we can extract," U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-Laurens, told a Lander University audience Wednesday, according to the Greenwood Index-Journal .

Obviously this is not the type of person we want in a podition of lawmaker in the USA. This man is twisting a bronze age mythology into a free pass to extract and burn more caustic fossil fuels, despite what 99% of the world's scientists have warned us of. Catastrophic climate change is irreversible and will cause many deaths, many extinctions. We need to try and make sure we're not one of them.

Now now now let's not frekt out over global climate change.
Just because trillions of tons of carbon, and hydrogen have been trapped in the ground for millions of years, and our planet evolved without these chemicals in our atmosphere it does not mean that piutting a 1/3 of those chems back into the atmosphere in less than 150 years could even have even he smallest effect on our atomshere or life in the planet is simply preposterous.
Doesn't anyone stake science classes anymore?

Some of it due to gas prices jumping up on a long weekend, Easter.....but yesterday evening in Vancouver Canada, gas was averaging $1.56 a liter. They have high gas taxes and will soon have a carbon tax on top of it. It was $1. 18 a liter where I live. We will also soon have carbon taxes on top of what we already pay, the whole country.

These taxes, driving up food costs and more, is not because of God, or bronze age mythology as you put it.....but scientists, greenies, liberals and leftists have caused this. You have conned people into thinking taxes will help climate. Thanks for making everyone's life difficult and more expensive. You all should be dragged into the woods and ........

I'd rather have the congressman anyday over liars and goofs making everything so expensive.

Everyone needs to read and understand:
The Cree Prophecy

When the last tree has been cut down,
The last fish caught,
The last river poisoned
Only then we realize
That one cannot eat money.

Are you kidding. God wants that oil out of the ground. It makes him mad that it is there. The only thing God hates moer than oil is people.

I wonder how we are going to ride out a global fire? Tony and his refer truck full of animals? That'll bring in the money down there in Kentucky next to that ark. A refer truck 150 cubits long by 25 cubits wide by 15 cubits tall. It doesn't need to be as big as the ark cause we killed off a lot of the animals since Noah.
