Abbeville Sucks!!!!!

I am a South Carolina National Guard soldier, one tour in Iraq behind me. Last weekend I did my first drill at the Abbeville Armory, as did a number of other soldiers. No problem, it is pretty normal for us to go into strange towns to do our Guard duty. I am from North Augusta.
Well, Abbeville has left its mark on me and a few other soldiers in the unit and Abbeville can literally eat my shorts.
The Abbeville Police Dept seems to have known that new people were coming in and set speed traps for us. We were the only people on the road that time of the morning. I know of three National Guard soldiers who got tickets that Sunday morning. I am so happy to serve my country and drill in a town like Abbeville that would take our money when no one else is on the road.
Abbeville does not deserve a National Guard unit and I hope you rot in hell.

So, being in the National Guard means that officers should look the other way when you break the law? I don't think so. Maybe if you hadn't broke the law you would not have gotten a ticket. What gives you the right to think that laws don't apply to you just because it's a certain time of day or night?

Shame on Virgil. I'm also from North Augusta and heading to the Opra House Show today. Looking forward to it. If I speed, a ticket I should expect.
Get with the program. Speeding is sort of like the illegal aleins in America. You break the law, the law breaks you.

Virgil is RIGHT. Virgil, glad you didn't have to deal with the sheriff department. I had many years of unfair, unlawful treatment by the sheriff department. No one should ever have to deal with what I had to with the Abbeville sheriff department. The whole damn crowd is a stellar example of the buddy system.

i am not goin to get into my own problems with the abbeville unit or the police here but yeah they both do suck and i am the wife of a 111th sig bn soldier/veteran

I've not been writen a speeding ticket in Abbeville unless it was a holiday or I was going down a big hill (the steep hill leaving abbeville is their best trick). Just ride your breaks down the hill or you can end up like me.

Yes. Abbeville cops suck they lie alot,and always stick together. If you lived in Abbeville all your life you would not have any problems. If you have not then anyone with power will screw with you. Because they can. Its a power trip.

I lived in Abbeville for several years and never experienced anything unfair. The town is generous and amicable in every way. Seems to me, if you speed, you get ticketed. Isn't that the American way?

Don't Speed. Get up in time to make it to your destination. After all, you are the one with the lead foot. And many times it it people that drive like a bat out of hell that cause massive accidents. oh yeah, FIY all the towns from Augusta to Abbeville on hwy 28 are "speed traps" just for your info!!!!!

You obviously never paid attention to anywhere you may have been being a wife of a veteran. Police are the same no matter where you are at. I should know, I am a doughter of a retired veteran and have travelled all over the place. I just say go to Myrtle Beach and see if you can get away with some of the stuff you do here!!!! I think not. Grow up!

I've lived here 48 years never been in trouble with the law not even a speeding ticket nor has my family who has been here forever,maybe its you and not the law.If you dont like it here,theres plenty other places to go.

I've lived in abbeville my whole Life and I ain't never been nowhere else. I did ride to Greenwood one time with my PawPaw to get a part for a Tractor and I almost went to Calhoun Falls with my friends Uncle but I made him let Me out when He ran His Hand up my Leg and tried to tickle my beaver. I thank the law is alright they're just doing their Jobs trying to take in money for the city. The best thing to do is tell them right up front You ain't been drinking.
