I 'm sorry, if you are sitting behind bars, are they expected to be treated with facials, pedicures and such? Give me a break! Ray did a great job and so is Mike,as a community we support our sheriff and know he has done everything he promised to do when he took his oath. Look at the world we live in today, he has a tough job. Cat with a canary, I know you are Dawn. By the way are you related to Lisa Smith? Or did you girls stay at the same institute? Just wondering...

As for your Sheriff and all those Bad Criminals in VPCC. Allow me to share just how Raywood Lemaire made his jail work for him.

Back when Ray was Sheriff, I was working at Rodi Power Systems in Abbeville. Our lead mechanic at Rodi Kevin Fox, was a Vermilion Sheriffs Deputy. One morning Deputy Roland Peltier and Sheriff Ray Lemaire came into the Rodi shop with a clip board. On the clip board was a list of names who had warrants out for thier arrest. Lemaire handed Kevin the clipboard.

Lemaire told Kevin that he needed a mechanic at the jail, since his last mechanic had finished his sentence and was gone. Lemaire was not looking to take a criminal off your street. He specifically was looking for a mechanic. Lemaire only wanted "criminals" with a skill. He would make the mechanic work while Lemaire charged the going rate to the "customer".

Then Raywood Lemaire would put the profits in his own pocket.

That's how good of a job Ray Lemaire did in keeping "criminals" off your streets. And Couvillion, at the time, was his right hand man.

Yeah, what do they do in there now? WOrk out, watch tv, etc.? Yeah, they stay in shape so they can repeat their crimes when they get out. Like the Sheriff in New Iberia said, Its not a resort and its not a vacation. Make them work and IF they get tv, they only should be able to watch the weather channel and CNN! And that would be to keep up on current events and to know if they were gonna be picking up trash or cutting grass in the rain tomorrow! LOL
If Jesus was here today,do you think he would be with them or be with you? Sad thing about Christians they never practice what they preach.

Dawn, We do not care about what you are saying, so why keep on? And if that did happen, hey if they did have a criminal that was a good mechanic, why not get him to do the work at the jail? And as for pocketing money, thats your side of your story.

Ray did keep alot of criminals off the streets, who gives a rats a-- how he did it, he did it!
Mike is doing one of the best jobs as Sheriff and we respect him as a person and our Sheriff.
you dont even know him,how can you put him down like this? I have never met a sheriff like Mike that you can honestly say has an open door policy! He is always there with an open door to listen and try to resolve any problem with alot of knowledge, professionalism, and the most compassion for his parish & people!

I believe you have me confused with Lions Roar. And please, you have made it perfectly clear that you do not care about living in a society that upholds respect and dignity of its citizens.

It is also not surprising that you would defend the tactics of VPSO indentured slavery. After all, you have sucked up so well to Raywood, you'd never be chosen as a victim. Even if you goofed and got Ray in trouble, you still wouldn't be victimized because the VPSO is only interested in SKILLED slaves.

And yes, this is my side of The Story as an eyewitness. Sorry to disappoint you again, MrsC. Just because you don't care about my words, is not evidence that the majority of Vermilion agrees with me.

Get a clue.

Get aclue: you may have onl worked for the company, but I my dear have been best friends with several you have mentioned and you are so far from telling the truth! And if you would do your homework you would be quick to find out I believe in justice, but to here you say skilled slaves, criminals should be treated the way they treated their victims! Criminals are not slaves! Are you for real? You are a fricken joke, lol, lol.
You dont even make sense! You really have shown your true color!

I completely agree with you. That's why I believe that Raywood Lemaire, Roland Peltier, Kevin Fox and Guy Nerring should all take thier turn inside a VPCC cell.

Oh, and let us not forget to lock up the other Rodi Criminals such as Marshall Delcambre, Abby Broussard and the beloved Piru.

Arrest

A friend of mine was arrested, pulled out of his home after 10 p.m. in his boxer shorts, no shoes because of alleged outstanding warrant. This happened in front of his neighbors and ex-girlfriend who is the mother of his daughter. He told the sheriff's deputy that it was something that was taken care of and he had paperwork to prove it. The deputy refused to allow him to show proof then took him to jail driving in excess of 85mph. He was later released and told that it was an error. He then went home in nothing but his boxers. What an embarrassment.

Get a good lawyer and sue the f*(& out of them. That is false arrest, or maybe something more serious.

My thoughts exactly. I wasn't sure what the law is regarding this. The deputy didn't know what the warrant was for, would not tell the person being arrested what the warrant was for. He was very hyped up and very rude. Broke his top lock trying to bust in the door. The young man was sleeping and was going to the door as fast as he could, but they just broke it. The excessive speed just about took the cake. 90 mph! That is absurd! What if the officer would have wrecked with this person in the car, who should not have been arrested???

Let Tony Fontana handle it, or check out Mike Skinner in Lafayette. I am not a lawyer, and don't want to give you bad information.
There indeed seems to be a problem in Vermilion Parish with cops speeding for no valad reason. I see it all the time. If someone is going 90 in a 55 and gets in a wreck, that would probably be considered an at fault accident. Luckily that didn't happen.

Especially when Rick Coleman's Posse gets you for a so called traffic violation. On more serious stuff you can normally get out of it because the local cops are too stupid to do anything right.

This kind of thing will probably go on and on until somebody finally sues the living shit out of whoever is responsible for the illegal arrests that have been going on in the parish. In the example above, if the deputy had a warrant, then there had to be a judge who signed the warrant. If, as stated, the victim had paperwork to prove that the issue had been taken care of, then the agency's beaurocratic arm needs to be held responsible. Time and research into the responsible party(ies) plus a good attorney can stop this from happening to others in the future. It is past time for the guilty law enforcement agencies to be brought to justice for these travesties.
