The Cat-licks assert their first Pope was a guy named Peter, da same Peter mentioned in most of da xtian bibles. Recently da Vatican released 35(?) MILES of records 'bouts there choich. Bunches of da records goes way back to befo' 300CE.

Da question is; What verifiable, recognized, authority do you have to assert as you have?

Is you is, or is you ain't "blowing smoke"?

ther are two main christian doctrines. the apostles doctrine and the trinity doctine. the apostles doctrine teaches you have to be born again of water and spirit,in other words, baptised inthe name of jesus christ and filled with his spirit{evidenced by speaking in tongues}. the trinity doctrine teaches them to baptise in the name of the father and the son and the holy ghost. the word clearly says in acts 2:42 that they continued in the apostles doctrine. there is just one church, not 100. how do you know, ask what they say when they baptise you, if they say the titles run, find a church ib truth....paul clearly warned timothy in timothy 1:3 to teach no other doctrine, { in other words teach the apostles doctrine timothy

So there is just one church. I guess no church counted, until the First apostalic church came along. Just wondering Carl, have you anything original to say? Every thing you have said, has been repeated a hundred times. Word for word. Yet your words don't seem to attract new members.

just trying to get you to see your error friend. it doesnt line up with the word, mot meant to offend. the truth always pricks the heart, not preaching religeon, preaching the word/ king james scholars who broke down that bible for us to understand not him. as for your technicality on being born again, it was jesus who said you have to be born again of water and spirit, JOHN 3:5.. as for being good, read acts 10:2 it lists all corneleous qualities , he was devout:religeous}, prayed to god always, gave alms:money to the church the poor, etc.} and feared god. sounds like a good christian, yet in verse 5 the angel from the lord tells him to send for peter, who will tell him what he needs to do. more than being religeous, more than giving, he had to be born again, simple thats scripture.

You right it says that. But let's look at it this way. I'm a mother, I'm a sister, I'm an aunt, I'm a wife... And so on, but these r not my NAME. I have one name. If me in my humanity can have many titles but only one name then God in his deity can do the same thing.. What's the name???

This is Jesus speaking: And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.(Luke 24:46-49 KJV)

The book of Acts tells u word for word what the disciples taught concerning salvation. They were in Jerusalem. Waiting for the promise of the Father Acts 2. All of the disciples, Mary.. About 120 ppl. The promise is fulfilled and Peter (the one which God said and on this rock I will build my church) stood up and preached Salvation to the masses. Repent and be baptized everyone one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. In the scripture u cited It said NAME of the Father, Son, & Holy Spirt. Its a singular noun, not plural. So there can only be one name. His name is Jesus and u can't show me any place in the book of ACTS where anyone was baptized any other way.

That, my friend is a lie. I know you personally. You were just not listening at the time. You were not willing to hear. And perhaps some of your activities prevented you from listening. I know for a fact you were not involved in the catholic church for 38 years. Don't pretend that you went to church, or read your bible before. You had a come-to-Jesus life event...and that was before you started going to this church. You have every right to your beliefs as do I. But you are giving me interpretations in these quotes from the bible. I can read my own bible and interpret it for myself.

The question WAS show where it says...now show me in the book of ACTS. Great of you to disregard Matthew gospel because it does suit your needs. Ha! I thought only Catholics did that.

I did Acts 2:38. And no disregard of Matthew. Act 2:38 is the fulfillment. Be a little more open minded and read it again.. Maybe get out ur bible and read the references for urself. It's all there, and explained. Question is... Do YOU want to really see it and understand?

I'm sorry I went back and read it again... That scripture would be Acts 2:38. In Matthew 28:19 it says to baptize in the NAME (singular). Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are titles not names. The name is Jesus. Peter preached what God commanded in Acts 2:38 Baptisim in Jesus name

Who said I'm catholic? I believe in God. You are judging me for my beliefs. Only one shall judge me. If you think I'm going to hell for not attending your church, so be it. You said sat in church for 38 years now it's 17 years. 16 years ago you needed something and were searching for a place, answers. You found it. I'm happy for you. I apologize for bringing up your old life. This forum is the perfect place for you to discuss your beliefs and state your point of view. They asked a question and you answered with your opinion.

i showed everyone on this forum what the word of god said, scripture after scripture. now do this ,get a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle. on the left side, write A, next to it write apostles doctrine. under it write baptism in the name of jesus christ... go to the right side of paper, now write B next to it write trinity doctrine. under B write baptism in the name of the father, son , holy ghost..... NOW tell me how many doctrines you see on that paper, there should be 2..A and B . only one can be truth. thw word of god says they taught the apostles doctrine in acts 2:42...how many types of baptisms do you see?? again--A jesus name B father son holy ghost .only one is correct, A. paul wrote in galations 1:9 if any man preach any other gospel{doctrine} unto you than that ye have received . let him be accursed! the word just said it i didnt. there is just one true message , look at A again.only one can be truth
