Well, as much as we hear the phrase "innocent until proven guilty" Few of us adhere to that belief. The cops don't come with handcuffs on circumstantial evidence. Although, I would like to see a law that states all innocent verdicts be listed in the newspaper, just as they do when they arrest you.
I think that would be a good story for the Meridional. Take all of last year's arrest records. Show what the person was arrested for and then show what the outcome of the case was and what the sentence was. Would be very interesting!

This may be okay for the ole girl. The moment of great change is coming to your life. The only crime more embarrassing than this, is to be a sex offender. To Haylie, I want to remind you, that you deserve all the put downs that come your way. You may be a good person, but there aren't too many people that believe that notion at this moment. Here is what you have to do. Number one, don't bother hiring an attorney if you are guilty. Your charge is right up there with child molesting, nothing any attorney can do, to make you look like a decent person. Nothing any attorney can do, to lessen your sentence. If you robbed the church, You will get the same penalty standing alone, or beside the best attorney in the state of Louisiana. truthfully, your sentence may be less, if you plead guilty quick, and not waste too much of the courts time fighting this.
But if you are guilty, then fight till the end.(In this world, they usually don't snatch you up unless the evidence is strong. so we are all assuming that you are guilty.)
After you have pled guilty and taken your penalty like a big girl, then you should proceed to live your life like the majority of the honest people. And after you have lived right for about ten years, then people will give you your respect.(P.S. a certain percent will rub it in your face 20 years from now, but don't let that discourage you. its part of your penalty.
At first glance the post (the one that I replied to) may appear to be harsh but a closer look reveals it to be true words of wisdom. We all do dumb chit and afterward expect others to forget it ever happened but it doesn't always work that way. Though I wouldn't put this up there with child molestation, I do get the poster's point. Violating something that sacred (the Church) in the eyes of many will always provoke a severe kind of reaction. Take this person's (the original poster) advice......expect other's to be paying attention to your words or deeds (it's just how we are-you'd do the same), but don't bury yourself mentally b/c of it. In the meantime move forward. making whatever amends you can and if the opportunity presents itself reach out to anyone you may recognize going through something similar. And when things really feel like they're sucking so bad that you want to react, remind yourself that like everything else, time heals all.

Wishing you nothing but the best.

That's a good point. Kicking someone while they're down accomplishes nothing. Doing this to anyone is just wrong. Anyone that claims to love scripture ( the foundation of any Christians' faith) would know better. You can't have one without the other (scripture and Christian). Try not to let emotions drive you and get ahead of your better judgment. We're all fallible.

Ha Ha ... all you Christians in here judging the girl! Typical.

You think the Church don't misappropriate funds and that Priests spend your money ... hmmm, sorry, "their" money wisely. You got Priests stealing from the Church and a lot more money than what she took!

Ha Ha ... Did Jesus have an IRA and a vacation home?

Holy Crap is it safe to assume you are not a Christian? You couldn't possibly be a Christian especially since you are on here talking about someone's family as if tgeybare to blame for their family member stealing from a church. May I ask if your family knows you are on this site making nasty remarks about someone else's bad choices if in fact this theft is true? For example, if I read what you are writing about this woman and decided to say "Holy Crap" must have a messy, nosy, judgmental and ignorant family because of what you were writing than you'd probably ask "what the hell do I know about you". My point is be mindful of others hardships and pray for people who need it instead of making ugly comments like you are doing. I'll be praying for you for sure and hope you consider toning it down a bit for GOODNESS sake!

Good Question what would Jesus do? FORGIVE if there is repentance, come on who can throw the first stone for all have sinned and come short of the glory of GOD. js it is wrong to steal it is a sin to steal but if she repents and truly means it God will forgive her.

Good post and point. You're probably addressing someone who's never had hardship or adversity in their life yet, so they won't get it, but what you say is well taken.
