Any leads on the suspect? The story dont say. What the hell is it with this town? Population of what...13,000? Seems to have the crime rate of a town with the population of 50,000.

Education and ignorance are the problem.
A man turns to violence when he runs out of intellectual ways of dealing with a situation. These Negs being less educated, turn to violence much quicker.
Just saying

Abbeville is a prime example of a bunch of law breaking individuals and a police force that is not up to par.

As a mother who just lost her daughter, I can truly say yes the number one problem is DRUGS!
It causes domestic violence, stealing & murder!
I know a young girl who sold her children because of a bad habit!
Look at the 3 month old baby! In the news it's horrible
Look some blame the Law for not doing nothing, but we as a society need to take a stand and help the law enforcement too! If you know of someone breaking the law turn them in, husband, son, daughter, neighbor!
Look if someo e has a BENCH WARRANT! And u know where they r call it in!

Drugs kill!
Just plain. & simple!
Ruins families, takes away your loved ones & will make you sell your own children!

Sometimes we need to get angry & put a stop to the lawbreakers who r walking the streets of our community!
My daughter had so many years to enjoy this Earth! And it breaks my heart to know criminals & some that have warrants r walking this earth! Enjoying life!

If more people would go to work and get off welfare there would be a large drop in homicides...too much free time on your hand..Drugs bring in money but also bring other problems..Go around Abbeville any given time of the day....So many people walking around doing nothing instead of going to work...Get a job....

It is not the cops fault when someone goes nuts and shoots people

I agree with you Mr. Fred.
But, when you have a detective agency at APD and VPSO, you should see proactive results. Not a majority of investigations AFTER the fact!
It's the same way here. And everywhere in this country.
Quite frankly, they'll tell you their hands are tied by political and proceedural constraints.
The implications of politics should never affect investigations of the law or it's outcome.
Unfortunely it does. Everywhere in this country.
Money talks.

Yes indeed Woody!
Gosh I was looking at VPSO website. Drugs, is the number one problem for so many I see there that I know in this community! Drugs is a horrible driving force that makes people do the most hateful CRIMES!
Lol on a lighter note: gosh the UFC lightweight champion, Bendon Henderson is a wonderful, good hearted person! From him saying to not fight in this world, but to hug your loved ones and treasure them because tomorrow's not promised!
I wonder if he's part CAJUN from that Basin?:)
A very good fighter!

Everyone wants to blame the Police...Blame the DA's Office and the attorney's around here who plea bargain to say they made a case..You get more time for drugs than for murder...Our prisons have more people in there doing harder times for drugs than people committing murder and rape....Again go get a job. Make cuts to welfare and unemployement..There are many jobs out there just our society has become so lazy and always holding their hands out for someone to take care of them....
